YEAR IN REVIEW

2011 IN REVIEWWith considerable global economic and political instability, 2011 was again a tough year for all business across the board. Despite all of this instability, and contrary to the performance of the majority of our competitors, MORAN YACHT & SHIP had another outstanding year in all facets of our business, including sales, new construction, charters and purchases.

During 2011 MORAN YACHT & SHIP again cemented our position as being the world leader in the sale and construction of new vessels, by delivering the following to our clients:

VALERIE 86m (282 ft.) LürssenHERMITAGE 68m (223 ft.) LürssenLADY KATHRYN V 61m (200 ft.) Lürssen

In addition, MORAN YACHT & SHIP sold a large fleet of brokerage yachts that included the following vessels:

SILVER LINING 47.2m (155 ft.) ChristensenVANTAGE 45.7m (150 ft.) Palmer JohnsonHOKALANI 45.7m (150 ft.) Palmer Johnson GOTTA GO 44.2m (145 ft.) NQEA

Even though the new construction market remains difficult for the signing of new contracts, MORAN YACHT & SHIP completed the sale of the following vessels:

91m (299 ft.) Lürssen52m (171 ft.) Hakvoort

The charter fleet managed and ran by MORAN YACHT & SHIP had another exceptional year, with all of the vessels that we represent having full charter calendars. Yachts such as the 75m (248 ft.) Lürssen NORTHERN STAR, the 68m (223 ft.) Lürssen KISMET and the 61m (200 ft.) Lürssen LADY KATHRYN V all had full charter programs. We are very pleased to have produced another record year of 86 weeks of in house booked charters; quite an impressive achievement. With the addition of Sean Zamora and Chris Callahan to the Charter division of our company, we feel that we are well positioned to continue to provide charters for the owners of the vessels we represent.

MORAN YACHT & SHIP continue to expand our worldwide operations with the addition of Taylor Craig in the position of Sales Consultant and General Manager of the Fort Lauderdale Office and Tom Fleming as General Manager of the newly opened office in Newport, Rhode Island on Christies Wharf. We will be announcing in the near future the opening of a new office in Europe.

In October the legendary founder of Apple Steve Jobs passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. His tragic passing along with other more personal events, have led me to reflect upon my own mortality.

I leave you with a quote from Mr. Jobs that helped me put things into perspective:

Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.

Take that vacation you’ve always dreamed of. Buy that boat you’ve always dreamed of. Donate your time to charities. Spend more time with your friends and family. Whatever you do, do something wonderful. Enjoy your life to the fullest because we only get one shot at it.

May your New Year be filled with much joy, health, happiness and success. We look forward to working with you in the coming year and hope our relationship continues for many years to come.

All The Best,

Robert MoranPresident

CLASS & SOPHISTICATION

One of the latest additions to the Moran Yacht & Ship brokerage fleet is the 58.2m (191 ft.) UNBRIDLED, widely considered the highest quality vessel Trinity Yachts has ever built. Delivered in 2009 to an Owner who demanded excellence, UNBRIDLED offers the highest level of cruising comfort. From her main salon to her staterooms she features a rich but comfortable elegance that is showcased in cabinetry, walls and ceilings comprised of 20 different species of wood. Additionally, there are at least a dozen types of marble and stone employed. This is an extraordinary yacht with spacious guest areas, lavish styling and design, as well as immense exterior decks to enjoy. The massive sky lounge, as prescribed by the Owner, flows from the aft deck forward to the bridge and provides spectacular, panoramic views outward. Accommodation for 10-12 guests in 5-6 cabins offers a flexible arrangement to suit the Owner’s requirements. On the main deck there is a luxuriously appointed full beam Master Cabin along with a multi-purpose guest or staff cabin with 1 murphy or 2 pullman berths and a bathroom en suite. The lower deck boasts 2 VIP Cabins and 2 Twin Cabins, each with an additional pullman berth. Thoughtful additions to the lower deck include a Guest Study/Media Room and a dedicated wine cellar.

CHARTER FEATUREBest Of The British Virgin Islands

DAY 1 ST. THOMAS - ST. JOHNBegin your yacht voyage from the busiest of the US Virgin Islands, colorful St Thomas with its entertaining mix of beaches, bars and restaurants. This is by far the most opulent of all the Virgin Islands and luxury hotels are as easy to find as five-star golfing facilities. St John is much less populated and only a short sail away. Crossing Pillsbury Sound and following the coastline brings Maho Bay into view, which is protected and boasts a lovely beach. This is a wonderful island on which to spend an evening with a number of pretty bays and pirate ruins to discover. Leinster Bay is ideal for snorkeling and exploring. As the island is usually visited as a day-trip option, anchoring here overnight will ensure you have the island almost all to yourself.

DAY 2 ST. JOHN - JOST VAN DYKEJost Van Dyke is the first of the British Virgin Islands you will visit and entering this region requires clearing customs. This island is much less developed than many of its neighbors. Despite its small size you will find a lively and upbeat crowd on its shores taking advantage of the laid-back atmosphere and generous small-town spirit. There are also more than enough pretty anchorages, beaches, bars and restaurants for an evening of entertainment. White Bay and Great Harbour are spots worth visiting.

DAY 3 JOST VAN DYKE - SANDY KEY - TORTOLASandy Key is a tiny slip of sand off the northern tip of Jost Van Dyke and is the deserted island of fairytales. It is the perfect spot to spend the morning before heading to Tortola, which couldn’t be more different. A yachting hotspot, Tortola is the largest of the islands and is full of busy towns set amongst lush mountains and sweeping coastlines. Definitely worth a visit while on the island is the slim, sheltered curve of sand that is Cane Garden Bay; an excellent place to drop anchor with its entertaining water-sports facilities and restaurant-lined streets. West End is another nice anchoring spot with great shopping.

CHARTER FEATUREBest Of The British Virgin Islands

DAY 4 TORTOLA - NORMAN ISLANDThis small island is best know for its caves that hide amazing snorkeling sites brimming with multicolored fish, coral gardens and intriguing mineral formations. For evening entertainment, the Bight bay houses a pirate-themed restaurant that honors the island’s place in the classic tale of Treasure Island. Northeast of the island you will find the Indians, a small group of rocks with excellent snorkeling. For a quiet spot to spend the night, Benures Bay is the place.

DAY 5 NORMAN ISLAND - PETER ISLAND - SALT ISLANDThe best spot to head on Peter Island is the shallow reed at White Bay where the snorkeling is top-class. Deadman’s Bay is home to a nice beach while the Peter Island Yacht Club is a well-dressed place to dine. Salt Island is most famous for its spectacular dive site that lies just off its coastline, highlighted by the wreck of the HMS Rhone. The wreck and its surrounding marine park attract world-class divers from around the world.

DAY 6 SALT ISLAND - VIRGIN GORDAThe sleepy island of Virgin Gorda attracts travellers with its famous Baths, a collection of giant granite rock formations that entice hikers and snorkelers alike to discover their grottoes. The beaches at Devil’s bay and Spring Bay are also fabulous places to relax. In the island’s north, Gorda Sound is a safe anchorage for the evening that also has some good snorkeling. Marina Cay and Trellis Bay also make for nice spots to spend the night with their little nightspots and stores.

DAY 7 VIRGIN GORDA - ST. JAMESSt James is located just off the eastern tip of St Thomas and its scenic Christmas Cove is a relaxing place to spend the final night on board. You will have to clear customs again for the return to the US Virgin Islands at Cruz Bay.

DAY 8 ST. JAMES - ST. THOMASLeave Christmas Cove to sail back towards St Thomas for the final stop on your Virgin Islands voyage.
