Abstract: Richard Utt in Applied Physiology, developed the notion of formatting. In Energetic Kinesiology we developed these concepts further. The minor orextraordinary chakras are formatted by holding the chakra mode on each hand ordouble chakra mode. The placental chakra, which we consider to be the firstchakra, is also considered as one of the extraordinary chakras. To understand formatting better I have developed a model of formatting and thetreatment triangle that states that formatting captures an energetic imprint of stresson a particular structure. This enables the practitioner to access and balance thestress very precisely.Formatting can add further depth to balancing muscles in Touch for Health. InBrain Formatting it is possible to format areas of the brain and then usesupraspinatus and teres major to COITectthe format. Supraspinatus and formattingcan be used for balancing the cerebral cortex and the limbic system, and teres majorand formatting can be used for correcting the brain stem and spinal cord.Ihave developed an energetic model of conception that states that the first cell -which comes from the union of the ova and sperm from the mother and father - hasenergetic properties from the mother and father, such as Ida and Pingala.

Every psychological imbalance has a physicalimbalance. The psychological imbalances canappear as temporary mental/emotional
imbalances or as more chronic mentaldisorders. An example of this is feeling sad orlonely to having a full blown panic disorder.

These, in fact, have the same underlyingneurology. They are just different degrees ofinnervation.
The physical imbalances associated with thepsychological disorder are in both the anatomyand physiology. Every psychologicaldisorder, whether it is a temporary feeling or achronic condition has a neurologicalimbalance. This manifests in theneurotransmitters endocrine system etc. Thereis also an imbalance in the chakra system thataccompanies this. The chakras, in fact, iswhere the imbalance is held.
For me, in Kinesiology what we do is removestress. This allows the client to adjust and dealwith the stressor and heal themselves. Thisraises the question how exactly do we removethe stress? Well the first step is to access thestress, and how is this done? There are manyways of doing this, and some of them requirethe practitioner to have a high degree ofexpertise and personal development.
Part 2, Formatting
Richard Utt in Applied Physiology developeda major breakthrough for the Kinesiologistcalled 'Formatting'. This has turned out to be,for me, the greatest gift that Kinesiology hasto offer, because it allows the practitioner, nomatter how well they are trained, to access thestress on a particular piece of anatomy orphysiology. It also allows the practitioner toassess just exactly where the stress is held inthe chakra system.
Formatting uses a combination of acupointsand finger modes. This draws on the Chinesetradition of acupresse and the meridiansystem, and the Indian tradition of fingermodes which are derived from mudras. Usinga combination of these, the energetic stresspattern of any anatomy and physiology can beaccessed.
If music is an analogy, then the finger modesand acupoints are notes and the format is achord.

Brainstem and cerebellum, reflex motion andinstincts. Basic motor plans especially axial orwhole body movements, including primitivebehavioural responses related to fear, angerand sexuality that are elaborated by specificneural circuits. Innate behavioural knowledge:basic instinctual action tendencies and habitsrelated to primitive survival issues.
Old Mammalian Brain
Limbic system or the visceral brain, habits andemotional brain. Contains newer programsrelated to various social emotions, includingmaternal acceptance and care, social bonding, separation distress and rough and tumble play.Affective knowledge: subjective feelings andemotional responses to world eventsinteracting with innate motivational valuesystem.
Neomammalian Brain
Neocortex, thinking brain. Can be influencedby emotions and can influence emotions byvarious appraisal processes. It is not afundamental neural substrate for thegeneration of the emotional experience.Declarative knowledge: propositionalinformation about world events derivedespecially from sight, sound and touch.
Before conception, the five 'out of the body'chakras are there, joined by Sushumna, themajor nadi. Conception brings about the unionof an ova and a sperm. This union bringsabout the first cell. This first cell is the initialexistence of a human being in this physicalplane.

Earth Star is the chakra below the feet, theotherfour are above the head.
This one cell, has the first of the physicalchakras - the placental chakra. The placenta isan endocrine organ, therefore there has to be achakra associated with it. This first celleventually differentiates into the fetus and theplacenta. The placenta receives all the nutrientsnecessary for the development of the fetus, while the placenta chakra transduces all theetheric energies that the fetus needs, while theother physical chakras develop. Ida andPinzala are also there on the first cell whichare brought in from the Ova and the Sperm.
Fig 6, The moment of conception, theplacental chakra is indicated by the spiralvortex which spirals into the first cell. Idaand Pingala are represented bv the lines onthe first cell. The five Heavenly Chakrasare the same as in fig 5.
In the Tibetan tradition, they say that atconception you receive an indestructible reddrop from your mother and an indestructiblewhite drop from your father. This occurs fromthe mixing of the semen of the father and theblood of the mother. They also say that wherethese drops mix is where the individualconsciousness enters. This, according to theTibetans, is the heart chakra.
Fig 7, The Yin Yang of conception, thisrepresents the first cell. Ida and Pingala arerepresented bv the internal curved lines
The white drop then ascends to the crownchakra, and the red drop descends to the navelor solar plexus chakra. It is through the navelthat the umbilical cord connects the fetus withthe placenta. The crown chakra is ourconnection with the heavenly father, and thenavel is our connection with the divinemother.
There is also a nadi that flows along theumbilical cord, this is called the UmbilicalNadi. This brings in etheric energy that istransduced for the fetus by the mother.
Fig 8, the fetus in the womb, with theumbilical cord, the placenta and theplacental chakra. The black arrowsrepresent the flow of etheric energy fromthe mother.
The sperm and the ova also contain thebeginnings of Ida and Pingala. They jointogether with Sushumna to form the threemajor nadis, which are the mechanism forraising kundalini. Ida and Pingala are vital at

this stage for holding etheric energies in thedeveloping fetus.
The union of the ova and the sperm also bringabout the merging of the genetic material. Then cell differentiation leads to the separationof the placenta and the fetus.
The placental chakra allows time for theformation of the seven 'major' chakras and thenumerous other 'minor' chakras. The sevenmajor chakras form a system of psychologyon their own.
At birth, the first thing that is done is to cut thecord. This practice does not allow the ethericenergy to finish flowing along the umbilicalnadi, or the placental chakra time to integrateinto the navel or solar plexus chakra. ChakraHologram practitioners have found that thestress of the individuals placental chakra canbe found at the navel or solar plexus chakra.
The placental chakra often contains issueswith the mother, how you give and receivefrom your mother.
There is now a practice called the 'lotus birth',where the cord in not cut, but allowed to breaknaturally. This allows the flow of energyalong the umbilical nadi, and blood along theumbilical cord to finish flowing of their ownaccord. This not only allows the proper intakeof energy and nutrients, but also empowersthe individual to let go of the placenta of itsown accord.
