Job Description Job Title Energy Advisor Operational Responsibiliti es (Senior Management roles only) None Working Hours 37 hours per week (part time hours available) Contract Fixed Term – 31 st March 2020 Reports to Project Manager / Head of Energy Services Budget Accountability None ENERGY ADVISOR Role Overview Delivering accurate and impartial advice on fuel poverty, energy efficiency, renewable energy and other sustainable development issues such as, transport to householders Key Responsibilities Provides advice and information to customers on energy efficiency and renewable energy measures, user behaviour and fuel poverty and sustainable development issues as appropriate Provides information and, where appropriate, makes referrals on behalf of customers to grants, subsidies and other sources of funding for the installation of energy saving measures. Ensures that the details of grants and other funding sources are up to date and relevant. Ensures that all sources of data and technical information used are clearly referenced and approved by the relevant team leader Completes surveys, processes energy data and produces reports and any other associated correspondence. Ensures that information and data records are accurate and efficiently maintained. Handles and responds to customer enquiries through telephone calls, written correspondence and face-to-face. ENERGY ADVISOR

Key Responsibilities Provides advice and information to customers on energy efficiency and renewable energy

measures, user behaviour and fuel poverty and sustainable development issues as appropriate

Provides information and, where appropriate, makes referrals on behalf of customers to grants, subsidies and other sources of funding for the installation of energy saving measures.

Ensures that the details of grants and other funding sources are up to date and relevant. Ensures that all sources of data and technical information used are clearly referenced and

approved by the relevant team leader Completes surveys, processes energy data and produces reports and any other associated

correspondence. Ensures that information and data records are accurate and efficiently maintained. Handles and responds to customer enquiries through telephone calls, written

correspondence and face-to-face. Maintains an up to date working knowledge of sustainable energy matters and keeps the

relevant information, literature and documentation available for review. Maintains effective customer relationships to assist customers to take action upon advice

provided, including follow up work. Delivers outreach, awareness-raising and marketing activity as required, including events,

displays and presentations Carries out sustainable energy project work on a range of projects, supporting other themes

and projects as required. Follows office systems and keeps tidy and efficient records, contributing to internal and

external reporting and evaluation processes as required Complies in full with quality assurance, monitoring systems and procedures Participates in training and CPD as proposed by management

GENERAL DUTIES Delivering world class service in the field of energy advice Co-ordinates activities within the team under the direction of the team leaders Takes and identifies opportunities that are appropriately referred to more senior staff and

may be required to take the responsibility as a key contact to funders/ stakeholders/ partners

Follows all organisational policies and procedures, and assists in ensuring that these are applied consistently across the organisation

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:Qualifications or Experience in

A relevant discipline e.g. energy, engineering, architecture, building services, ecology, environmental science, housing.

Numerate & literate Excellent Customer Care skills Excellent Microsoft Office skills Willing to learn new things Excellent verbal and written presentation skills Computer literate: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, internet, database. Driving licence and own car to use

Desirable:

Knowledge of behaviour change in energy and/or environmental fields Knowledge and experience of housing, health and social care services and practice Good general knowledge of energy infrastructure in UK Experience of working in, or in support of, local or other statutory authorities Second language skills (European language, particularly welsh)
