energy and environmental law program
TRANSCRIPT
Founded at the start of the modern environmental law era, GW Law’s program in Energy and Environmental Law remains innovative and original. With more than 40 years of experience educating lawyers in the field, the program is poised to provide the next generation of environmental and energy lawyers with the theory and hands-on skills to address global challenges in the field, including climate change, fisheries depletion, air pollution, water scarcity, and the development of new sources of energy.
A vital part of the GW Law experience stems from our unparalleled location in the heart of Washington, D.C., across the street from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank; two blocks from internationally known law firms on K Street; three blocks from the U.S. Department of State; and a subway ride away from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Supreme Court, and a host of nongovernmental and policy agencies. Through GW’s Field Placement Program, our students routinely undertake externships for academic credit at these institutions.
