Main outcomes discussion
• Subsidies are important
• Most measures are financed by cash-flow
• Only few projects with energy service contracts
• Crowd investing interesting as a “marketing and customer relationship tool”
• Most companies do not have a strategy for decarbonisation yet

How to finance the energy transition? • One day workshop on “Green Finance” (22nd of Nov)
• Speakers from banks, pension funds, investment and finance groups, crowd investing platforms
Some outcomes
• The energy transition needs cooperation across branches and technologies
• Missing awareness of existing sustainable investment funds
• No “energy efficiency financing products” so far
• Well known financial products (like housing-saving) should be used to finance energy efficiency projects (“green housing-saving”) 12

Austrian eco-label for sustainable investments
13https://www.umweltzeichen.at/de/produkte/finanzprodukte/nachhaltig-investieren
• 12 investment companies with Austrian eco-label for sustainable investments
• Only about 1% of green investments in Austria are made by private investors
• 99 % are made by institutional investors like pension funds
• A survey on the awareness level of the Austrian eco-labels was conducted in 2018
− The eco-label on sustainable investments is not very well known in Austria
