In setting the energy target, three factors are considered:

–Local climate. –Locally available energy sources. –Size of the home.

We Consider This Via:

•Computer modeling. •By using advanced computer software in the design of every R-2000 home, the high performance demanded by the R-2000 Standard is assured.

•System design.• With an R-2000 home, energy efficiency is designed in, not added on.

• R-2000 homes avoid ventilation problems by combining tight, well-insulated, leak-free construction with an energy-efficient mechanical heat recovery ventilation (HRV) system

• Windows are selected to meet the specific climate conditions that prevail at the house site – the colder the area, the more robust the window system
