Engage, Simplify, and Execute with Innovations Across SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite

In our ongoing commitment to provide engaging and efficient HR solutions, SAP SuccessFactors is pleased to announce multiple new innovations available for the entire SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite with the Q1 2016 release.

Highlights in the Q1 2016 release include: • New continuous performance management for more frequent dialogue and feedback

• More preconfigured intelligent services

• New home page design

• New country versions for the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central solution (Bangladesh and Nicaragua) and the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll solution (Taiwan and United Arab Emirates)

• New overtime calculation and time off in lieu management functions

SAP SuccessFactors HCM SuiteFollowing our overall product strategy to provide a simple and intuitive user experience, we’re proud to introduce a new home page design that provides:

Plus, with our new team summary feature, managers can easily access all relevant team data to learn about team members quickly.

Intelligent services

We’ve preconfigured several new events extending across the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite, reducing the administrative burden of information updates across multiple systems. Employees, managers, and HR team members all benefit from an improved user experience.

For example, the new “Successor Added” event (initiated from the SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development solution) notifies SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central that an employee has been nominated as a successor. If the employee leaves the company, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central sends a notification back to SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development – ensuring transparency and efficiency of HR succession planning processes.

Additional intelligent services launched in this release include:

• Development goal added (initiated from career development plan)

• Populate performance rating (initiated from performance management)

• Calibration session launched (initiated from the SAP SuccessFactors Expert for Calibration solution)

• Global assignment start (initiated from SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central)

• Spot awards given (initiated from the SAP SuccessFactors Compensation solution)

• Crossboarding (initiated from SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, impacts the SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding solution)

• Concurrent assignment (initiated from SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central)

• A newly created leave of absence sends a notification to the SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting solution

SAP SuccessFactors Employee CentralHR administrationWe’re happy to introduce the addition of apprentice management capabilities to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central. With these new capabilities, you can plan and manage apprenticeships and educational programs in which young talents rotate between on-the-job training and classroom training. With easy access from the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central home page, HR and on-site managers can maintain students’ school periods, plan internal training events, and assign appren-tices to on-the-job training. A calendar view enables supervisors to easily select groups and create events, and allows apprentices to easily access their up-to-date training plan.

We continue to add country-specific capabilities. New country versions for Bangladesh and Nicaragua are now available, increasing the total number of localized country versions to 75. You can use the upgrade center to start using these capabilities for your employees in these countries. Localized functionality includes ISO code, currency, national identification, home address, corporate address, personal information, work permit documents, and job classification details.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll

We also continue to add new country versions for our payroll solution. With this release, we’re adding versions for Taiwan and United Arab Emirates – bringing our total number of country versions for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll to 33.

Time and attendance management

We’re continuing to focus on time and attendance management for new innovations. With this release, it is now possible to enter absences with no specific end-date. This satisfies a requirement from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Spain. Now, all absences, regardless of known end-dates, can be entered.

Additionally, overtime calculation in time sheet has been enhanced. Time off in lieu allows you to post calculated overtime into a time account based on time recording profile settings. Employees can request specific absences that deduct time off in lieu from time accounts. All time account features, like period-end processing, are also available for time off in lieu accounts.

Lastly, we’re improving your ability to manage time and attendance processes, like stopping accruals when employees are on leave and importing working time from external systems.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Service Center

A new workflow enhancement allows you to include a PDF summary as an e-mail attachment to a notification. You can also define which PDF template and variant (language and country) will be used.

Global benefits

Building the best foundation to support global benefits is what we’re aiming to do. With this release, we added a new standard field to enable storage of 401k / savings plans for U.S. employees.

In addition, users will enjoy a new intuitive user experience for benefits as part of their people profile.

SAP SuccessFactors Talent Solutions

SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals

We’re excited to introduce one of the biggest innovations in our history of providing leading performance manage-ment capabilities. In this release, we’re expanding the scope of what’s possible in the SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals solution with the introduction of continuous performance management.

With continuous performance management, you can easily support more frequent employee-manager dialog, alignment, and communication. We help you do this by facilitating simple and intuitive 1:1 check-ins between employees and managers that help ensure an employee’s activities, accomplishments, and goals are on track and easily accessible to managers.

With these new capabilities, SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals provides the most comprehensive performance management solution available – allowing you to create the right blend of performance processes that stimulate engagement and ensure employees are ‘all-in’!

SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development

To make succession management even easier, we’re simplifying the process for evaluating candidate readiness by providing a quick link from the main menu of the successor card to the readiness assessment form in SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals. Plus, we’ve improved the search criteria for talent search, which will provide better search return results.

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

We’re thrilled to bring you gamification capabilities to improve learning adoption and employee engagement. We’ve partnered with Bunchball to integrate the SAP SuccessFactors Learning solution with the Bunchball Nitro gamification engine. As a result, your employees can be further rewarded with points, recognition, and badges for their learning activities.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

We’re excited to announce added support for new-hire goal management within SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding. Hiring managers can now define short-term (30-, 60-, and 90-day) goals with new hires directly from within SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding. When these goals are defined and saved in SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding, they can also be leveraged with the new-hire goal plan within SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals.

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting

Following our strategy to simplify recruiting processes, we’re excited to introduce a new “Career Site Builder” tool to more easily create and manage career sites. With the initial release of this tool, partners and service teams can leverage best-practice design components to quickly drag, drop, and deliver a modern, mobile-friendly career site for your organization.

Plus, within global job distribution, you can now leverage our new Job Marketplace to more quickly and easily identify, add, and configure job boards for your job postings.

SAP SuccessFactors Compensation

SAP SuccessFactors software transforms compensation planning with new patent-pending modeling capabilities. We’re proud to introduce new compensation modeling capabilities that improve planning accuracy and efficiency by intelligently aligning compensation guidelines with budgets. The SAP SuccessFactors Compensation solution is the only solution that can automatically adjust the compensation model so that it’s in-line with the available budget. Expanding our existing variable pay forecasting and modelling capabili-ties, compensation professionals can now model base salary and long-term incentive programs prior to finalizing planning cycle configuration.

SAP SuccessFactors Mobile

After the successful launch of our redesigned Android app in Q4 2015, we’re expanding the learning capabilities of our Android app. Learners can now browse available courses, register for courses, take e-learning courses directly from their mobile device, and easily check in to classroom courses with a QR code displayed on their device. Further enhancements to the Android app include a new manager dashboard that enables managers to more easily view their team members and a new onboard-ing experience that new hires will love.

With this release, we’re bringing pay statements to the SAP SuccessFactors Mobile solution (iOS), enabling SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll users to see an overview and history of payouts, as well as a detailed break-down of payouts.

Following our mobile first approach, all capabilities in the area of continuous performance management outlined above are available in SAP SuccessFactors Mobile (iOS and Android).

SAP Jam Collaboration

Administrative areas

An important new administrative areas capability allows company administrators to delegate responsibility for specific capabilities within the SAP Jam social software platform to administrative areas – with non-IT employees managing them. This frees the company administrators, who are typically within IT, to manage projects or address critical business issues, while allowing trusted employees and SAP Jam experts to take care of noncritical requests on their behalf.

Custom SAP Jam company home pages for specific groups of employees

Leveraging the new administrative areas capability in this release, company administrators can now create home pages for targeted audiences of employees. New employ-ees can be presented with a “new employee” home page during the onboarding process to help them learn about the company and find useful content, while existing employees see a more traditional Intranet-like home page.

Group-level content approval enables review workflows for important communications

Group-level content approval provides simple review workflows for newly created or edited content. Content approval is supported for blog posts, uploaded documents, images, videos, feed posts, forum posts, and wikis. Group administrators can designate multiple group members as approvers. Individual approval policies can be set up for each content type so that any approver, or all approvers, must approve content before it is made visible to the group.

This enhancement eliminates the need to have a group administrator post content in restricted, broadcast-only groups. Instead, it enables group members defined in the approval process to review content before it is made visible in such groups.

New and improved SAP Jam search engine brings improved relevance

The new and improved search engine offers more than just a full text search. It incorporates an analytics engine that can utilize the unique social capabilities of SAP Jam, including content rating, content views, content authored by people you follow, and more.

The new search engine allows SAP Jam to provide more relevant content for the “getting started” wizard for new employee onboarding, people and content recommenda-tions, and more. As a result, the new search engine should dramatically improve simple searching processes for content in SAP Jam and bring a new level of relevance and content discovery.6
