  • Release Notes

    Fixed issues in this release

    Key Summary

CES-58345 Customer Keys and Customer Details in EngageOne Interactive were not always properly validated and handled.

Resolution: The process by which Customer Keys and Customer Details are handled and validated in EngageOne Interactive has been modified to correct this issue.

CES-58346 This issue was observed during a template search, as a characters were added / removed from the search entry field, a query action was triggered; this was in some cases returning inconsistent results.

Resolution: The process used to query the database as charcters are being added has been tuned to reduce the risk of unnecessary queries.

CES-57254 It was not possible to migrate work items in customer’s environment. An ‘Error: null’ error message was raised when attempting the migrate.

Resolution: The code responsible for this functionality has been updated to resolve this issue. Additional log entries have been introduced so as to have more details related to migration process.

CES-58470 Parameters associated with custom error messages raised within SDI were not passed correctly to the corresponding message placeholder.

Resolution: Parameters are now correctly passed to their associated error message when an exception from SDI containing parameters is raised.

CES-54021 Repeated messages were generated in the OpenAM agent debug logs.

Resolution: The OpenAM agent default configuration has been modified so as to eliminate the error messages and reduce size of the log files.

CES-57103 The following events: APPROVE DOCUMENT, PREVIEW DOCUMENT, REASSIGN DOCUMENT and REJECT DOCUMENT are missing in Event Monitor.

Events: CREATE DOCUMENT and SUBMIT DOCUMENT are present in Event Monitor, but some of their properties are not logged.

Resolution: All the missing events have been re-introduced and should be present in Event Monitor. All the missing properties should also be logged as expected. Logging of properties retrieved from answer files is now parameter-dependent and can be turned on/off, as required.

    Key Summary

CES-57307 User type output variables were not correctly resolved when a data-model was created in EngageOne Designer for an interactive template with fixed-length and relative delimited input.

Resolution: The output variable creation and resolution mechanism was changed to properly handle this type of data-model. However if previously created variables are exported in delivery options, they would need to be recreated in environment with this fix.

CES-57325 This issue was observed when a database query was executed against an Oracle database as follows:

    • The query was run within a purge procedure regarding unused resources. • The query returned more than 1000 entries.

In this scenario the following error was issued by Oracle:

IN statement must contains maximum of 1000 entries

Resolution: Where the database query returns more than 1000 entries, it is split into chunks of 900 elements.

CES-57527 This issue was observed when templates contain the same image but from different Projects in EngageOne Designer. The fact that the images came from different Projects was not differentiated in EngageOne Server which led to this issue.

Resolution: A new STRANDGUID identifier now allows for the correct identification of images from different projects.

CES-58103 When the same recipient was used multiple times in channels within a delivery option, only first one received the correct answer file with recipient field filled.

Resolution: The method by which the answer file is overwritten has been modified to cater for this issue.

CES-55985 When the purge process is executed in concurrency mode, it runs infinitely.

Resolution: A new database index has been created to solve the problem. Additionally, to help troubleshooting all purge related issues, new log entries are now available when the process is executed in DEBUG mode.

CES-52946 A requirement was identified to extend the amount of information logged in the Event Monitor for each delivery item created. Information about the delivery option used to create any given delivery item was required.

Resolution: Each Deliver document event registered in the Event Monitor should now have the property containing delivery option’s system identifier (delivery.option.id).

    EngageOne® Compose EngageOne® Server 4.4 Service Pack 8 Release Notes 7

    http:delivery.option.id

    Key Summary

CES-51507/CES-54443 Template resources and key maps were impossible to access in all solutions integrating ActiveX editor with client's custom application.

Resolution: The servlet responsible for providing template resources and key maps to all external ActiveX editor implementations has been moved to EngageOneWS application and can be accessed without direct authentication in OpenAM (web services token is still required).

CES-50519 If password for inter-service communications user expires, a blank screen will be displayed to all users once they sign-in to EngageOne server.

Resolution: A proper error handling mechanism has been introduced so as to provide users the details of the error instead of the previously displayed blank screen.

CES-53905 During the prompting cycle, at an editable text prompt, if the user clicks on another document, the Editor displays a publication level prompt which has already been shown.

Resolution: The EngageOne Compose ActiveX Editor now continues prompting on the first prompt of the new document when switching documents at an editable text prompt within the prompting cycle.

CES-55702 In cases where a multiple selection prompt had selection entries that were longer than the prompt text, a horizontal scrollbar is placed that obscures the last entry in the selection list.

Resolution: The prompt selection width calculation was incorrect in the ActiveX, causing the prompt dialog width to be incorrectly calculated. This caused the horizontal scrollbar to be placed.

The width calculation has been corrected and deployment of the new ActiveX Editor will resolve the issue.

CES-45627 EngageOne Server has no mechanism to modify the behavior of Generate in EngageOne Server

Resolution: A new config file eo-server.config has been added within the execution directory of EngageOne Server Generate. This file is of the same format as the OPS file giving the ability to the user to alter the operation of Generate to suit specific requirements.

    Additional Trace options

    Outputfile=trace%d.out

    EngageOne® Compose EngageOne® Server 4.4 Service Pack 8 Release Notes 8

  • Release Notes

Key Summary When specifying the trace output file If %d is included within the filename then when the trace file is created the %d will be replaced by the date and time of the submission.

This operation is currently restricted to windows and Linux only.

An additional informational message GEN0018I Processing ... /eo-server.config has also been added to Generate.

Generate "" OPS Settings have also been implemented for use with Current Designer Published Publications (Templates) containing Content Author Message Box/Stream when Published to EngageOne Server.

CES-57147 EngageOne Compose ActiveX Editor - Radio buttons and check boxes labels are not treating "&" correctly and are displayed as "_"

Resolution: The ActiveX Editor has been updated to handle "&" within Private Active Content Interactive prompts correctly to ensure it is displayed correctly.

CES-51212 It was not possible to install EngageOne Server with LDAP other than Active Directory when the distinguishedName attribute was not defined .

Resolution: Distinguished Name validation and Active Directory specific attribute usage has been modified to allow the use of LDAP other than the Active Directory. It is important to note that users in LDAP must have the user class and groups group class added.

CES-51407 It was possible to upload multiple versions of the same resources using a single click on the OK button. This issue was observed in the EngageOne Administration application.

Resolution: When an upload is in progress the OK button is disabled.

CES-54385 In certain circumstances a single event is logged multiple times in EngageOne Server's event monitor.

Resolution: Several changes have been introduces in the batch, composition and core bundles to eliminate most of the duplicates log entries for deliverDocument web service calls and manual work item composition from EngageOne Interactive.

CES-54802 The workitem service was keeping a large number of database connections open when the system was idle

Resolution: The default property values have been reduced to avoid a recurrence of this issue.

    Summary

In certain circumstances the composition-service would block or timeout when Generate aborted abnormally.

Resolution: When Generate aborts abnormally the stop action is now moved to another thread pool thus avoiding this issue.

Non-accumulated batch was incorrectly displaying the incident archive location following errors during doc1gen processing.

Resolution: The incident archive location is now properly displayed in the NABatch log

This issue occurs when running NA-batch for specific data file formats. For certain data file formats the file was incorrectly split, as a result the output file contained the wrong number of pages.

Resolution: The splitting mechanism has been modified to handle this type of input correctly.

The tds/activeContent directory was missing from the active drive folder following installation, this led to failure for certain deliver document requests.

Resolution: The active drive folder structure created during installation has been extended to include the required directories.

The non-accumulated batch native input method was not functioning in the 4.4.x versions of EngageOne Server.

Resolution: Native input file support for non-accumulated batch has now been reinstated. A trigger xml file is no longer needed if native input is present under the specified -dir parameter used in non-accumulated batch processing.

When a document preview was performed from Interactive, four preview folders were created on the active drive. This had an adverse impact on the performance of the preview and space allocation. Note that the Purge with the -concurrencyMode flag set was not picking up the preview folder.

Resolution: The preview feature has been modified to optimize performance and storage space usage. The Purge process now picks up the preview folder with the -concurrencyMode set and adheres to the -numDaysRetention flag

Date fields on XForms are displayed in the American format in English version of the product.

Resolution: Settings now conform to the specific English language variant. Other supported languages are not affected by this fix.

    Key Summary

CES-56512 Drop down lists presented on Interactive's Customer Keys and Customer Details pages do not allow the selection of empty values.

Resolution: An empty value is now added at the beginning of each drop down list where appropriate.

CES-56514 Unexpected behavior occurred during workitem deletion where the workitem contains multiple delivery channels which are in an error/canceled state.

Resolution: The code has been rectified to ensure that deletion of the workitem is correctly executed when all delivery channels are in a error/canceled state.

CES-56549 Migration from older versions of EngageOne Server did not work when the core bundle was configured for https.

Resolution: https support has been added for migration scripts.

    CES-56551 There was two issues:

    • Groups with special symbols was not returned properly when resolving principals

Resolution: The code has been modified to eliminate this issue.

In Windows environments, customers are randomly affected by a known external component bug which makes it impossible to make any configuration changes to the security bundle.

    CES-57069

Resolution: The relevant configuration scripts have now been modified to ignore informational warning message which in turn eliminates this issue.

An issue was encountered with group resolution for users which have special characters in name e.g. ',', '*'. These characters should be escaped in the LDAP filter. This resulted in inconsistent user permissions.

    CES-57132

Resolution: The code has been modified to cater for users with special characters in the name. This change ensures users are assigned the correct permissions.

    Summary

The following buttons are grayed out after cancelling out of a Save as Template operation:

    • Save for Later • Save as Template

    • Next/Submit

Workaround: Refresh the page and launch Interactive Editor again.

Navigation buttons (Home, Projects, Templates, etc.) do not work in the following scenario:

    1. Go to Templates, select a template and proceed to Edit Communication page

    2. Launch Interactive Editor by clicking Edit Communication page 3. Change language in EO Compose, at this point the Interactive Editor is

terminated 4. Launch Interactive Editor again 5. Click Cancel and then Discard in Unsaved Changes pop-up

Workaround: The navigation buttons will work as normal after refreshing the page.

The Save for Later option is not available after adding an attachment and/or note when Interactive Editor has not been launched.

Workaround: Clicking the Edit Communication button invokes the Interactive editor and enables the Save for Later function. Note that the attachment/note can be added without clicking the Edit Communication button.

The JAWS screen reader may read the application title twice when tabbing between prompt dialogs with the EngageOne

    ® Compose Interactive Editor.

If a user's distinguishedName attribute in LDAP is changed, users or groups will no longer be assigned to communities, roles, etc. This is not an issue where you modify distinguishedName of users or groups which are not directly assigned to roles or communities within EngageOne.

    Key Summary

CES-29439 Create New Template in Projects does not validate trailing spaces, which can result in duplicate template names or inconsistent template names between Designer and EngageOne.

CES-5985 Uploading large amounts of active content can fail when using Flash player 14 or later. Organizing the active content into folders with 100 or less items will result in optimal performance.

CES-28916 Using the TURKISH_CI_AS collation while creating a database on Microsoft SQL Server can cause field name issues for some fields, and can result in errors during execution of the installation script, which creates the database objects.

This is due to the way the lowercase "i" and uppercase "I" are handled in the Turkish language.

CES-13306 Exporting more than three delivery options at one time can result in an error. Increasing the timeout setting of the Load Balancer will often resolve this issue. Selecting a maximum of three delivery items at a time does not produce this error.

CES-5445 EngageOne 4.x using output variables with a dot in the name results in an error when running batch.

    EngageOne Designer considerations

NOTE: This release of EngageOne Server is packaged with the 6.6.8.135 version of EngageOne Generate and ActiveX editor.

EngageOne Server 4.4 recommends EngageOne Designer 6.6 or later to enable publishing templates that support interactive cross-browser (web page form fill) mode.

    • EngageOne Designer versions 6.6 and greater can be used for publishing in cross-browser mode.

Otherwise, templates can continue to be published from EngageOne Designer versions 6.x prior to 6.6, and continue to use the EngageOne Compose ActiveX or Interactive mode of editing in EngageOne Interactive.

Templates published from Designer 5.x are not compatible with EngageOne Server 4.x.
