    1. Engaging Communities Through Traditional Filipino Sports2. The advent of information technology hasushered high-tech gadgets and computer gamesthat has

fascinated children and even adults.Computers and game gadgets are mostly playedindoor, withless outdoor physical activity andbonding among neighborhood friends. In many urban and ruralareas, however, a greatmajority of Filipino children still find time to playoutdoor indigenous games

with theirneighborhood friends, as most of them are stillunable to own expensive high-techgadgets.Unlike children who grew up playing in thestreets, some grew up with moderntechnologydont have kababata in their neighborhood,as their friends are contacted within thevirtualscenario, ka-Chat at Friendster or YahooMessenger. Children need to havephysicaloutdoor activity with real friends.

    3. THE PROBLEM OF LARONG PINOYSDETERIORATION IN THE COUNTRYFACT IS: UnlikeWestern sports (i.e. basketball), playingLarong Pinoy game ends in the street because thereis novenue for further competition. As soon as children reaches the age of 10 years old, they switch tosports available in schools & barangays.

    4. While Filipino street games have been organized seasonally in the past by governmentorganizations and private commercial enterprises, the Games has never been sustained and

revived to its once popular stature. Currently, no government or private entity has established alegitimate organization for Larong Pinoy. Furthermore, our country does not have School for LarongPinoy, unlike sports training clinics that have propagated for western sports. Yet, it is a fact thatLarong Pinoy has a strong equity that encompasses generations of Filipinos: from todays livingelderly citizens, to parent & adults, as well as youth & toddlers. This document presents an advocacyto revive the games of our heritage, with the establishment ofa sports infrastructure to re-institutionalize these with a sports curriculum in schools and barangays.Magna Kultura Foundationlends the same expertise pioneered in well-known grassroots programs in the 90s, such as theMILO Sports Clinics, Bear Brand Kite Festival & other government projects. At the turn of Y2000,Magna Kultura focused on advocating Filipino Games as a tool for instilling patriotism among thenew generation of Filipino youth. On September 2008, the Department of Education issued anOfficial Circular Memorandum that endorsed Magna Kultura Foundation to demonstrate LarongPinoy in schools. From there onwards, Magna Kultura became the chief advocate for thepropagation of the Filipino Games, with bonafide sports training curriculum. BUHAYIN NATIN LARONG LAHI. ITO ANG LARO NG MGA PINOY.

    5. ITO ANG LARO NG MGA PINOY.6. ITO ANG TUNAY NA LARO NG MGA PINOY.The Filipino Games are timeless. It is still well-loved

andcherished by many, as it is part of our heritage. LarongPinoys popularity encompasses not onlythe youth, butadult and elderly generation as well. Its a timelesscultural treasure. The games are stillbeing played in urban & ruralcommunities, by a majority population who have noaccess to hightechnology. The games are still taught inpublic schools. A majority of adults and elders would liketopass on the fun tradition to make the new generationexperience the fun of being trulyFilipinos.IPAKILALA NATIN ANG MGALARO SA BAGONG KABATAAN.In an effort to revive this

cultural treasure, Magna Kulturacreated an infrastructure for Larong Pinoy with a sportstrainingschool and a systematized tournament.Outreach sports clinics were conducted by MagnaKulturacoordinating with schools and barangays, to impart thegame mechanics and the officialtournament rules.

    7. In Y2008, the Department of Education(DepEd) issued a Circular Memorandumauthorizing MagnaKultura Foundation to teach the Traditional Filipino Games in public schools, implementing sportstraining in Physical Education Classes. Since then, Magna Kulltura became the chief proponent ofLarong Pinoy in the Philippines, as advocate in the revival of the Games of Heritage in the
