3. Introduction: Introducesthethemeof theworkprojectorresearchprojectandhowall therelatedareas fit together,also typicallyprovidesageneralbackgroundandelaborateson thepurposeandscopeoftheprojectproposal.

4. Problem / Opportunity Statement: Provides the context of the problem or opportunity to beaddressedbytheproposedworkprojectorresearchproject.Providesapersuasiveexplanationastowhy this is a tough problem being addressed andwhy it is important. Defines the stakeholders –thosewhohaveavested interest (activeorpassive) in theproblemoropportunityand its solutionand documents their wants and needs and how they will be addressed. Acknowledges asstakeholdersthosewhocanmakeorbreaktheplanningandimplementationoftheprojectresearch,findings,andproposedactionplan.

5. LiteratureResearch/Background:Describeswhathasbeendonebeforetoaddressthisproblemorsimilarproblemsandwhatwastheoutcomeofthosepreviousefforts.Researchonsimilarproblemsfrom different domains to supplemental known solutions tried in current domain, is stronglyencouraged.Shouldaddresswhatwasworkedwellandwhatneedsworkintheexistingsolutions.

6. Proposed Project Strategy and Approach: Describes your engineering management related workproject or research project strategy and approach. This is the core of your EM701 project plan.Explaininasmuchdetailasfeasiblewhatyouproposetodoforyourproject,howwhatyouaredoingisdifferentthanwhatwastriedbeforeoriscurrentlybeingimplemented,andwhatmilestonesyouneed to achieve and by when in order to complete the project by the end of your final EM701semester (the final semester may be the current semester or may be a subsequent semester,depending ifyouhaveoptedtocompletetheprojectproposal inanearliersemesteror inthefinalsemesterofEM701).Thiswillmostlikelybeaniterativeprocessasyouaredevelopingthefinalplanforyourproject.
