Engineering Design Graphics Technology

Associates of Applied Science (AAS) in Pre-Engineered Metal Building Drafting & Design

The Engineering Design Graphics Technology (EDGT) program at Cy-Fair College prepares students for an exciting career in CAD. The Department of Advanced Technology at Cy-Fair College offers students the latest in laboratory equipment and software essential to support each topic. Drafting courses combine lecture with hands-on drawings on the latest CAD, solid modeling, and technical illustration software.

An AAS degree graduate in Pre-Engineered Metal Building Drafting & Design become employable in entry-level positions of CAD Operator, Detailer, Estimator, Building Service Representative, or similar position working with architects, civil engineers, and construction managers. Some courses can be taken in high school through TechPrep articulation agreements. Several courses transfer to technology-based bachelor degree programs. Several courses required to complete the AAS degree are offered as non-credit through our Continuing Education department. See an academic advisor for more details.
