Important Guidelines
• If a student fails to attend in any drawing class, he/she will get ZERO GRADE in that drawing.
• No student will be allowed in the class without necessary INSTRUMENTSand DRAWING SHEET.
• Any student who fails to enter lab within 5 minutes of commencement will
be marked ABSENT.

Engineering Drawing
An engineering drawing is a type of technical drawing, used to fully and clearly
define requirements for engineered items, and is usually created in accordance
with standardized conventions for layout, nomenclature, interpretation,
appearance size, etc.
Engineering Drawing (BEMTS-F-15) 6
Engineering drawing :
• Is the first step in prototyping an object.
• Enables to better visualize an object
• Reveals critical information
• Is purposed to accurately and unambiguously capture all the geometric
features of a product or a component.
• Is a specification of the size and shape of a part or assembly.

Free-Hand Drawing
Engineering Drawing (BEMTS-F-15) 9
Free-Hand Drawing
• Free-Hand drawing is done without the use of any instrument.
• Only pencil and eraser are used.
• It consists of free hand strokes.

Instrumental Drawing
Engineering Drawing (BEMTS-F-15) 12
Instrumental Drawing
• Instrumental drawing is done with the help of different drawing tools.
• It is done with standard measurements and scale.

Computer Aided Drawing
• Finally a prototype is modelled in 3-D using CAD tools such as AUTOCAD,
SOLIDWORKS.
