Engineering Excellence Since 1963

Mission Statement

To become our Customer’s Supplier of choice through our continued

partnership approach and satisfying all of their expectations

Company HistoryRedmayne Engineering Ltd

Established in 1963 for the manufacture of components and sub-assemblies in the AerospaceIndustry. Originally based in a small “converted cinema” building in Brockenhurst, Hampshiresome of the first components manufactured were for the BAC 111 that were produced at Hurn Airport,Bournemouth.Due to its success, Redmayne was relocated to a larger site still based in Brockenhurst the following year.In 1996 Redmayne acquired the Dee’s Engineering business in Hedge End, which was subsequentlyrelocated in 2003 to Romsey through growth. In 2012 the Brockenhurst site relocated to a much larger facility on the Gordleton Industrial Estate in Lymington to allow for expansion. Redmayne maintains a comprehensive precision engineering service specialising in the production of fine limit components for the Aerospace and Allied Industries. The company's workshops are staffed byspecialist craftsmen, who are fully equipped with first class machinery and backed by an interoperation and final inspection staff. Comprehensive inspection facilities ensure the maintenance of a very highstandard of quality.Redmayne specialise in CNC work having purpose built machinery capable of producing high precision, small or large batch work. The skilled workforce totaling 100, are dedicated to maintaining QUALITY DELIVERY - PRICE The business is predominantly involved in high class machining, assembly and testing of various contracts toCustomer drawings and specifications to the aerospace industry. Over the years the company has beeninvolved in complex and prestigious projects for both military and commercial aircraft as well as nonaerospace projects for the Atomic Energy Commission, Ministry of Defense and Offshore Oil Industries.Recently, a substantial growth area has been the refurbishment of M.O.D. equipment, i.e. interlock, changeover, blow down and firing valves etc. Investment has been made in the design and assembly of test rigs, built around Customer pressure test requirements, to enable the testing of a diverse number of valves for submarines and surfaces vessels, including actuators and flow control valves for the Oil Industry. Investment in C.N.C Machinery has enabled the Company to keep pace with the competitiveness of the market place.

• Thread Rolling: Through our range of “Vital” and “Flight Safety Part” portfolio we manufacture critical thread rolled parts for the aerospace industry, we can metallurgical examine and pass samples and have invested recently in a new 50 tonne machine. Capacity ranges from 3mm to 120mm diameter threads with an infinite length.

• Broaching: One linear pull broaching machine with a maximum pull length of 930mm

• Honing: Plant includes two horizontal speed hones (Capacity ranging from 2mm to 64mm diameter) and two vertical machines (one having a numerical control, capacity 25mm to 762mm diameter with a maximum length of 864mm)

• Grinding: Over many years Redmayne have specialised in complex Shafts, Rods and Pistons for the aerospace industry, many being Chrome plated, Carbide coated, Carburised or Nitrided. As a result we have the correct technology to produce tight tolerance products with a zero reject culture. Currently we have 6 machines including CNC with a capability of cylindrical, surface and centre less grinding. We also have our own cutter grinding department.

• Electron Beam Welding: Is a fusion welding process in which a beam of high-velocity electrons is applied to the materials being joined. The work pieces melt as the kinetic energy of the electrons is transformed into heat upon impact and melts to form part of the weld. We use this process at present to produce close tolerance reservoir barrels in the aerospace industry.
