The most colorful ones are found in the markets of Jolo and Zamboanga. Weaving mats take several weeks-from the gathering of pandan leaves to stripping, boiling, and dying until the weaving stages. The quality of a mat is judged by its softness and the fineness of the weave as well as the elegance of the design. Mats are also significant fixtures in Filipino homes. They are sometimes used in rituals. In some places, mats are used as carpets to highlight an occasion. It is also cool to sleep on, especially inside a nipa hut, where people sleep in the floor.

What is a prepositional phrase? The preposition, its object, and modifiers of the object make up a prepositional phrase. A preposition is a word that relates the noun or pronoun following it to some other word or words in the sentence. An object of the preposition is the noun or pronoun that follows the preposition which relates to another word in the sentence. Examples: Two girls are on the swing. They stay on the benches within the park last night. The underline phrases are the prepositional phrases. The encircled words are prepositions and the boxed words are the objects of the prepositions.
