COURSE DESCRITPTION : This course is designed for students in the 1 level of high school to develop the communicative competence of the second language by developing linguistic communnicative skills ׃ oral and written production and listening and reading comprehension
GENERAL OBJECTIVES : Students will be engaged in various listening, speaking, writing and reading activities in class, and will be guided to :
Communicate in really situations. Develop listening and speaking skills and improve intonation, pronunciation, articulation,
stress, pitch, and volume. Develop vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, Increase self-confidence, fluency and accuracy when speaking in English.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES : By the end of this course, the students will :
Gain more confidence in speaking the English language.They will :
Become more aware of their own aprehension.when speaking English. Analyze about their aprehension. Practice fear reduction techniques.
Students will become more aware of the listenign skills by :
Listening and practicing of individual words, especially vocabulary building exercises.
Students will become aware of library- media resources, they will:
Share ideas with other through small groups and whole class discussions. Create oral presentations base on articles read by following appropriate steps.
EVALUATION CRITERIA :
Student`s proficiency in the class will be measured by the following :
1. Evaluations : reports.Written : quizzes, tests, summaries. 50 percent
