Wire – It’s the shape that countsFew of our customers know how we produce our parts: we use wire in different sizes and material grades together with sophisti-cated mechanical procedures and sometimes unusual properties. Practically speaking we draw, roll, bend and press the wire until it has the right appearance. This sounds mundane but is the result of more than 70 years of company experience.

We know how it worksTo be well versed in wire forming means we are able to meet exceptional customer requirements and we are doing exactly that: some of our customers send drawings, others simply descriptions of ideas which we convert into parts, first on the computer, then in our tool room and finally in production.

We optimize our customers’ construction parameters and recom-mend economical production processes. This enables us to carry out feasibility studies and efficiency calculations even before the start of series production. Why do we do that? To ensure that our customers receive the right parts with correct properties – and – to make them return for more business.

Spring washers „Made in Germany“?„Spring washers are produced in the Far East!“ We have heard this as many times as we have managed to rebut this statement – how do we do it? We are a privately owned family company based in Plettenberg and have been produ-cing spring washers for more than 70 years. The company is now operating in its 3rd generation – right in the heart of Germany.

Three GÜDE Management decisionsWe produce in Germany but our products are compe-titively priced on an international level. Large or long run-ning batch production and lean processes enable us to be cost-efficient. Short delivery times from our ide-al location makes us a favourite with our customers.

We design and construct our own machinery and tools, we do this by choice. This is the only way for us to remain fast and flexible.

We train and educate our staff. The experience of our work force is passed on from generation to generation, this constitutes the real value of our business. „Once GÜDE – always GÜDE“ so they say!

Hard – But correctA spring washer that is not hard enough lacks ten-sion, the one that is too hard will break on-load. The correct hardness is important. For this reason we have always annealed our products in-house. Back in the 50’s we used two annealing ovens which we built ourselves. Today we operate with a fully automated annealing facility day and night.

We keep exact records of the hardness profile for individual product batches. It’s not complicated, others do the same. We, however, are able to ad-just customer specific hardness values quickly and flexibly. It is this time advantage that our customers appreciate.

What must apply to almost all of our products: the surface must be protected from external damage. Many would say this is standard. Nevertheless, the process of surface finishing is a recurring challen-ge, particularly for special parts.

We document the class of our surfaces with our own salt spray test chamber, ensuring optimum quality.

A good standard can be achie-ved by all – We can do moreWe produced 2.000.000.000 parts in 2014 alone. Many of these were standard components. However, the proportion of special dimensions and parts to drawing increases year on year. We are well set up for this development with 8.000 m2 under roof and 3.000 constantly available storage facilities.

Ability to supply – It’s simple98% supply availability – it’s as easy as that. Our products are classified as C- or D- components by most of our customers. These parts only become important if they are not available. We are aware of that and this is why we have prepared ourselves and set up our processes accordingly. In the majo-rity of cases we produce to stock, not to order, this is the only way we can deliver that quickly.

Simply packagingMany of our customers are stockists and therefo-re packaging, preferably customer specific in their own box, and in the required quantity, is always an issue. This request is our motivation. In the mean-time we have installed state-of-the art packing ma-chinery.

But without a label, packaging is not saleable. In conjunction with our special labelling solutions we are able to provide the required package with a cu-stomized label.

This is especially liked by the purchaser. Lean pro-cesses and avoidance of multiple packing opera-tions also reduce the overall purchasing price.
