Introduction
This is my English Portfolio.
Here, I’ll organize all my worksheets, tests, extra-works,
language and grammar from the 2nd to the 3rd Term of the 9th grade.
With this I’ll be more organized and I’ll help me to improve my
competences in English.
This portfolio is organized in five groups:
o Passport file
o Learning file
o Portrait file
o Language file
o My learning profile
In the first one, I’ll talk about myself and my family.
In “Learning file” there will be information about my reading,
writing and speaking skills, and how I learned.
The “Portrait file” will be about the tests and worksheets I’ve
done.
The grammar and vocabulary learnt during 2nd Term will be in
“Language file”.
And finally, “My profile” corresponds to my competences.
About me
My name is Sofia Lemos Marques, I am fifteen years old and
my birthday is on the 17th January. I live in Maia, Portugal.
My mom is called Maria Eduarda, and she is a kindergarten
teacher. My dad’s name is Diamantino, and he is a mine’s engineer.
They are both 48 years old.
I live with them and with my two sisters, Inês (24 years old)
and Marta (21 years old). I’m very attached to them, and we are very
similar.
My cousins and my uncle are at my house all the time. The
twins, João and Miguel, are only 9 months old, and Guilherme is
four. They are my little brothers now.
I’m a very active girl, and I like to read a lot. I’m also very
interested in sports, and I play volleyball since I was eleven. I studied
music for 9 years and played the piano, but unfortunately I had to
choose between volley and music, and I had to quit, although I still
practise on my own.
My favourite school subjects are Portuguese, History and
Visual Arts. In the next year I will change schools, get into a more
specific area of studies, and I would like to become a Journalist.
I also really like arts like design and photography, and my
dream job is to be a photo journalist.
I love music and going to concerts, so I have a few favourite
bands and artists. They are Bob Dylan, The Gossip, Sérgio Godinho,
Amy Winehouse and Björk.

Hi there! How are you Melissa? I was so excited when your
letter arrived! Thank you very much for remembering me. I miss you
a lot! First of all, I’m so sorry I didn’t write you sooner.
I just got back from New York! It was such a blast!??? My
sister is studying there, (yes, she is really lucky) so my parents and I
went to pay her a visit. My other sister couldn’t make it. She’s full of
work this time of the year.
I loved it. We stood there for 6 days, so we got to know the
city pretty well. The one thing I liked the most was the guide tour my
sister got us, in the UN, where she’s working. The one thing that
could have been better was the weather. It was freezing! Usually,
there were only 5ºC during the day.
And you? How are you going? Has your sister been already
born? I bet you’ll be the perfect older sister.
I heard Michel just moved to the Manchester too. I think her
father got a work there. Isn’t he in the same school as you are?
Please tell him to write me, I haven’t got his address.
Well I must stop writing, I’m already at the post office and
they say they are closing earlier.
I wish you and your family the best! Let’s keep in touch ok?
Kisses!
Sofia.
