Activity:

Compare the different settings and how the 2 characters must have felt at the beginning and end of the advert. Think about:

• Location• Colours used• Atmosphere• Emotion

Make sure you use expanded noun phrases!

Task 3: Fronted adverbials

A fronted adverbial is a word or phrase that is placed at the start of a sentence.

They are used to explain how (manner), when (time) or where (place) something happens.

Activity 1: Create a fronted adverbial for each sentence.

Activity 2:

Create some sentences with a fronted adverbial describing where (place) the characters are at the beginning, middle and end of the advert.

Task 4:

You are going to design your own advert for pet food!

Remember, this advert needs to show how the animal’s life has got better, just like Harry’s did when he moved to the countryside.
