IntroductionStudents approved to enroll in ENGR 11 should have met most of the learning outcomes for ENGR 10. Thelearning outcomes for ENGR 10 are as follows.

At the end of ENGR 10 students will be able to:a)  Summarize the steps of the engineering design processb) Apply teamwork skills and resolve team conflictc)  Write a simple engineering report and present the report orallyd) Use tools such as spreadsheets, C++ programming, and CAD software to support engineering

design and analysise)  Use ethical reasoning to address to evaluate ethical dilemmasf)  Explain principles of sustainability and how they affect engineering designg) Recognize the value of participation in professional activities

ENGR 11 students have fully or partially met some or all of these outcomes through previous coursework orprofessional engineering experience. The purpose of this report is to document how you have met each of theseven outcomes listed above.

Assignment You are being asked to write a report that documents how you have met outcomes a to g. The report willconsist of four required and two optional sections

1)  Introduction2)  Evidence of meeting outcomes3)  Plan to fully meet incomplete outcomes4)  Summary/Conclusion5)  Reference list (optional  – needed if referring to sources such as websites, articles, reports, syllabi, etc.)6)  Appendices (optional)

More detail about the sections follows.

Introduction: In this section introduce yourself. Describe your educational and professional goals, where youare in your educational program, and what kind of professional experience (including internships) or researchexperience you have had. Summarize your educational path before you attended SJSU (community colleges orother universities).

Evidence of Meeting ENGR 10 Outcomes: This section must provide evidence of how you have met each of theseven ENGR 10 outcomes. Indicate whether you have partially met or fully met the outcome. If you have notmet an outcome, just say so. You should describe how you have met each outcome and provide detailed

For example, for outcome g you could describe your participation in a student club or a professional society(being a member of a club without participation is not evidence). Describe the activities you participated inthrough the club. You could describe attending professional conferences or presenting at a professionalmeeting. Provide the name of the meeting or the name of your presentation. For outcome a, you would describein detail a design you have completed and the steps you went through to complete that design. Anydocumentation you have of that design (for example a design report, syllabus) could be included as anappendix. Feel free to include drawings, photographs, or other relevant information to document your design.

Plan to fully meet incomplete outcomes: For those outcomes you have not fully met, provide a plan for meetingthem this semester. Your plan should include a timeline and deliverables that you can complete by the end of the semester. You plan can include attending some of the lectures in ENGR 10 (for example the lectures onsustainability). For outcome e, you may use the four homework assignments you are required to complete forthe ethics portion of ENGR 11. If you need help developing a plan to meet your outcomes, see Dr. Anagnos orDr. Hsu.

Summary/Conclusion: In this section provide a summary of your progress in meeting the outcomes of ENGR 10and your plans to complete unmet outcomes. Discuss conclusions you have about your plans for furtherprofessional development.

Appendices: Include here any documents that support your report but that do not belong in the body of thereport. Examples are published papers, design reports, lab reports, and long tables of data.

Grading

Include a title page on your report, a table of contents, and number your pages. Your report should be singlespaced and typed. Your report will be graded based on the following criteria:
