Center, of IIBF at Mumbai.

Advanced Management Programme (AMP) in Banking & Finance 2020-21

About IIBF

Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (formerly Indian Institute of Bankers) was

established on 30th April 1928 as a professional body of Banks and Financial

Institutions in India on the initiatives of eminent bankers, businessmen and leading

industrialists. Over the years, IIBF has become the premier Institute for developing

and nurturing competent bankers and financial professionals in Banking &

Finance, through a process of education, training, examination, research,

consultancy and continuous professional development programme.

Currently, Institute has 9,19,473 individual members and 643 institutional

members. The institute is the largest of its kind in the world. IIBF’s flagship

courses JAIIB and CAIIB are attended by nearly 4 lakh candidates each year.

The pedagogy of Distance Learning offered by the Institute comprises

publishing specific courseware and work books, holding tutorials through

About the Course:

The Indian Banking sector is in transition. Growing competition among banks and financial

intermediaries, both national and international, has heralded rapid and unforeseen changes in the

financial services environment. The recent past has seen emergence of more Universal Banks,

Payment Banks and Small Finance Banks.

Banks have to change fast to adapt to the new realities. To facilitate this transformation,

empowerment of the middle and senior management with necessary skill-sets is essential.

The Advanced Management Programme (AMP) aims at equipping middle and senior

management level officials with appropriate management and leadership skills needed to

succeed in the emerging competitive global market place and changing paradigm of

Banking..Considering the relevance virtual learning this year onwards AMP is being

conducted in virtual mode with a couple of immersion programmes in between.

Programme Highlights:

• A Comprehensive Management Course of about 8 months in the areas of banking and

finance with a focus on resource mobilization, information technology, international

banking, credit management and monitoring, treasury management, business analytics,

integrated risk management, etc.

• A 30-hour immersion programme (5 days) on Management Development (MDP) a t IIM,

Calcutta at their campus.

• A 21-hour immersion programme at IIBF Campus in Mumbai.

IIBF at Mumbai and other Professional Development centres at Delhi, Kolkata

Ninth AMP at Leadership Centre of IIBF

AMP at the Leadership Centre was started in January, 2013.

Eight AMPs in the IIBF campus were completed with total 168 successful

participants from different Banks / Financial Institutions

This announcement is for ninth AMP scheduled at the Leadership Centre. Last

date for receipt of applications is 31.7.2020 and the course will commence in the

first week of August 2020. The course content has been reviewed keeping in view

the feedback and the contemporary needs of the industry.

The Programme is comprehensive and strategic, keeping in view emerging

ideas and trends in Banking, and is expected to be completed in March 2021.

The programme is well accepted in the Indian Banking Industry and the participants

are from a wide spectrum of Banks and FIs in the country.

The fees include all costs relating to boarding and lodging of the participants during the

immersion prorammes at Kolkata, instructions and material (including case studies) for the

MDP to be conducted by IIM Calcutta.

The fees also include Course material to be provided by IIBF.

The program includes Two immersion programs – 1st immersion programme at IIBF,

Leadership Centre, Mumbai spread over a period of 4 days and the 2nd immersion programme

for 5 days at IIM, Calcutta. Attendance is mandatory in both the immersion programme to get

certification.

The program at IIBF, Mumbai is non-residential. Participants may arrange for their own

accommodation. During stay at Mumbai, Lunch and Evening Tea/Coffee shall be provided

by the Institute.(In Mumbai, accommodation at a four-star hotel (Hotel Kohinoor)

within walking distance from the Institute can be arranged at participant’s request.

The charges on single occupancy basis in the hotel are 5,500/- plus applicable GST per

day (Breakfast and Dinner included.)

*Travel expenses to IIBF, Mumbai and IIM, Kolkata and back plus other incidental expenses are

to be borne by the participants.

# The residential immersion programs at IIM, Calcutta (January,2021) and at IIBF campus, Mumbai are subject to change depending on Post-covid 19 situation in the country. In case of switching the program to virtual mode at IIM, Calcutta, proportionate amount of refund, if received from them, will be made to the participants.

Selection Procedure: • Sponsorship / Nomination / Recommendation by bank / organization is

desirable.

• In case candidates are not sponsored by bank / organization, the applicants

may have to undergo an interface with Director - Training, IIBF before their

selections are confirmed.

Evaluation/Assessment Assessment includes Attendance, Assignments, Group Presentations and

Online Exams (Module wise)

• Attendance will be based on login and log out time in each session. Record of

Attendance shall be shared with the participants at the end of each month.

• Assignments of each Module (Module 2 to Module 16) shall be given during

the Semester(s). Participants have to submit written /typed assignments on topic

chosen by IIBF. Detailed guidelines on Assignment submission shall be

submitted at the beginning of the course.

• Participants may be asked to do Group presentation during the Semester.

Presentation topics shall be shared with the groups (advised by IIBF) over mail.

Group presentations may happen in classroom (during immersion programme at

Mumbai) OR on the Virtual platform.

• At the end of each module /Semester, participants will have to undergo Online

exam (Module wise). Schedule for the Online exams shall be shared well in

advance by the Institute.

Course Duration: • 8 months. The course starts in August 2020 and ends in March

2021

• Being a week end programme the completion of the course will take

about 8 months

• Classes will be held on Second/Fourth Saturdays and Sundays (10.00am to

5.00pm)

Certification: On successful completion of AMP course, candidates will be awarded a

'Certificate in Advanced Management in Banking & Finance' by IIBF and a

Certificate of Participation by IIM, Calcutta. The topper will be awarded a

special prize and a citation.

Total Course Duration : 245 hours spread in 8 Months

Evaluation Process:

1. 75 % attendance is mandatory for candidates.

2. Attendance is mandatory in Immersion Programmes at IIM, Calcutta and IIBF, Mumbai.

3. For each (subject) course, 80 marks will be allotted. Break up of 80 marks will be as

follows:

4. Minimum pass marks will be 50 % for each (subject) course.

5. Successful participation at Management Development Programme at IIM, followed by an

Evaluation.

6. Overall assessment is on Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) system, for which

each subject has been assigned number of Credits.

7. Candidates will be required to make Individual /Group Presentations during each

Semester. For each Presentation, 50 marks will be assigned. Presentations and Project

Work are assigned 4 Credits.

8. Project assignments will be on subjects identified by the sponsoring bank / organization.

In case, the sponsoring bank / organisation does not allot any specific subject, IIBF will

identify the subject. 100 marks will be assigned to the project work. Minimum pass marks

will be 50%. The project will be evaluated by experts identified by IIBF. The project findings

will be the intellectual property of IIBF. In case sponsoring bank identifies the project, it will be

the intellectual property of IIBF / sponsoring bank jointly.

Dr. Jibendu N. Misra

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Misra is CEO of IIBF since 15th

December, 2014. A Ph.D. in Physics,

Dr. Misra joined State Bank of India as Probationary Officer in 1979 and

held various key assignments across circles, including an overseas

assignment in London.

Dr. Misra has held several key positions as General Manager, Patna

Circle; General Manager, Rural Business (Outreach), Corporate Centre,

Mumbai and Chief General Manager of Mumbai Circle. He was elevated

to the post of Dy. Managing Director on 31.07.2013 and was in charge of

Corporate Development and Human Resources Department of the Bank.

Dr. Sudhir Galande

Deputy Chief Executive Office

Dr. Sudhir Galande is having three decades of Banking experience and

worked at operations and corporate levels. He has worked as CEO of The

Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India for 4 years. Dr. Galande

has his Doctorate in Management from Mumbai University on the topic

”Corporate Governance In Indian Commercial Banks.”

He is M.Com., MFM from JBIM (Mumbai), CAIIB, LLB with insight of

International Trade and Marketing Management (PGDs). He is Fellow

Member of ICAI, ICSI and Insurance Institute of India and Indian Society

of Training and Development. Teaching is his passion and associated with

many Training Institutes of Banks and B- Schools for more than three

decades

Dr. S. Muralidaran, Director (Academics)

A PhD. in Finance, Dr. Muralidaran’s other academic qualifications

are B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Mumbai, Master in

Financial Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management

Studies, Mumbai with CAIIB, Diploma in Treasury, Investments &

Risk Management from IIBF. He has earlier served in Bank of

Baroda, Indian Bank, NABARD and ICFAI. His areas of interests

are Accounting and Finance, Treasury and Risk Management and

Investment Management.

H S Sharma, Faculty-In Charge- Training Department

H S Sharma is an Executive M.B.A., M.A.(Economics) and CAIIB.

He also holds Diploma in Training & Development from ISTD and

Diploma in Treasury, Investment & Risk Management from IIBF.

He has over 38 years’ experience in Banking across various banks viz

Bank of Baroda, The Nainital Bank Ltd and Saraswat Co-operative

Bank Ltd. He has also worked in BCSBI (Banking Codes and

Standards Board of India) for one year. He was a faculty in Staff

College of Bank of Baroda at Ahmedabad. Later he superannuated as

General Manager (Risk Management) from Bank of Baroda. Mr

Sharma’s service in banking include both in India and abroad, which

also includes his tenure as Principal Officer at Bank of Baroda,

Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. His areas of interest are Risk

Management, Credit Management and Training.

Anand Shrimali, Faculty Member

Anand Shrimali is triple PG - M.Sc. in Physics, M.A. in Economics,

M.Com with a law graduation and CAIIB & Diploma in Cyber

Laws. He has experience of 42 years in the

Banking including 28 years in Information Technology. He worked

in Bank of India where he handled various Projects in Information

Technology. He has 10 years’ experience in training with 3 years as

Principal of the Bank's I.T. Training College at Pune. He has also

held the position of CISO of Bank of India. He was deputed to IBPS

for 2 years where he headed the Online Division for selection and

examination of Banking Personnel. He superannuated as Dy.

General Manager in December 2015 and was Head of Data Centre

and Core Banking Solution.

Dr. Priti S. Aggarwal ,Joint Director (Academics)

Dr. Priti S. Aggarwal, holds a Ph.D Degree in Business Economics

from the University of Mumbai, Post Graduate Degree in Commerce

from the University of Mumbai, MBA (Banking & Finance) from

IGNOU, CS (Executive) from ICSI, M.S.(Finance) & CFA from

ICFAI and UGC (NET) in Commerce.

Additional Certifications achieved are Diploma in International

Banking & Finance, Diploma in Treasury, Investment and Risk

Management and CAIIB from IIBF and CFP from FPSB Ltd.

With a total experience of more than 22 Years, in diversified fields,

viz., Banking, Insurance, Financial Services, Treasury, Academics,

Corporate Trainings, spanning across Co-operative and Pvt. Sector

Banks, Insurance Companies, Educational Institutes, Colleges and

University of Mumbai, in various capacities.

Mrs. Kanchanamala is B.Com, CAIIB, AICWA,PGDIM. She has more

than 38 years of experience in banking industry. Has served in Bank of

India and retired as Dy Gen Manager in April 2018. During her service in

Bank of India, Mrs. Kanchanamala worked in various capacities at

different places including a tenure at the Bank’s Subsidiary in London. Her

core competency in Banking is in Corporate credit including Project

appraisal and Infrastructure Financing.

Ravita Wadhwa, Deputy Director (Training)

Ms. Ravita Wadhwa is a postgraduate (Physical Chemistry) from Delhi

University. Her professional qualifications include PGDM (Finance) from

IMT, Ghaziabad. She is a CAIIB and is also certified in Trade Finance and

Project Finance from IIBF. Ms. Ravita has more than two decades

experience in private and public sector banks which include 18 years of

experience in two PSBs - Bank of India and IDBI Bank. Her areas of

interest are International Banking and Credit Management.

Rakesh Kaushik, Faculty Member

A Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a

Certificated Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (Now IIBF). Has

over 32 years of experience with the State Bank Group having

Management Private Limited in various capacities. Has extensive
