Benefit Improvements
HOOPP’s Board of Trustees approved these Plan changes, effective Jan 1, 2018:

Survivor Benefit ImprovementsEffective Jan 1, 2018 for new retirements, existing retirees & surviving spouses and beneficiaries in pay• Increased the minimum benefit and added a five-year guarantee period• The minimum survivor benefit to your spouse is going up to 66 2/3% of your monthly
pension, up from 60% • Secondly, there’s the new five year guarantee period• If you pass away within five years of your retirement date, your surviving spouse will
receive the same monthly benefit as you (not including the bridge benefit) for the remainder of the five-year period

Looking forward to using HOOPP Insight (new employer website). Having participated in the webinars and now the training, my payroll staff and I are feeling very comfortable with the transition plan and live use of the new site.
I'd encourage everyone to attend the Roadshows. Bring all your staff involved with HOOPP.The presenters were extremely knowledgeable, and the training tools very detailed.
Step by Step "How To Do" at our finger tips. For payroll, we are most excited about the real time statement information, retro reporting, file uploading, remittance simplicity and less involvement in buybacks.
Thanks to those organizations who were the first pioneers of INSIGHT, your feedback and suggestions were obviously heard in the development of this website.

In order to ensure a smooth transition for our remaining employers to Insight, a number of initiatives have already been completed this year while several are still underway:
• File Validation Tools • On-line Website access roles collection• Roadshow Information Sessions • Learning Tools microsite (with browser test)• Insight pre-registration

We’ve been on the road throughout October hosting HOOPP Insight Roadshow sessions • 25 sessions in 15 cities, over 500 employer contacts that represented 300 employers
Hosting live and recorded webcasts from late November until mid-December to walk through step-by-step each of the activities
In preparation for the transition over to HOOPP Insight, there will be a period of time when our employers won’t be able to access ESE2. More information to will be communicated in early December
We are providing our employers with a checklist so they know what you need to do:• prior to the transition to HOOPP Insight • while the websites (old & new) are not available and, • once you gain access to the new website on January 2, 2018
