From the Principal…..
Hi everyone,
On Monday the primary children were involved in their
second art workshop with Jenny Greentree. All children
produced amazing artworks and should be commended
for their outstanding effort and manners.
The Preschool Aboriginal Education Officer position will
soon be advertised. On the 14th November people from
the Department of Education will be visiting the school
to talk about the duties and requirements of this posi-
tion. If you are interested please come along.
I am looking for an Aboriginal parent who would
like to sit on the interview panel for the AEO po-
sition. The parent must hold or be willing to get a vol-
unteer working with children check. If you would like to
be on the interview panel please let me know as soon
as possible.
Our student of the week this week is Jack Baty. Jack
receives this award for his continued his effort and dedi-
cation to improve his school work. Well done Jack!

PRESCHOOL NEWS
This week we learned about blood and the circulatory system, as
well as the brain. The children have been very engaged in learn-
ing about the body, asking many questions and linking their prior
knowledge to their knew understanding. We made our own
brains from jelly and performed brain surgery on them. We also
made blood!
We have also been making props and practicing for presentation
day next month. I have purchased some shirts and we are mak-
ing other costumes, but if everyone can please bring in a pair of
thongs and shorts for their child before Presentation Day I would
greatly appreciate it.
Preschool had a go at doing their own artworks similar to the
ones they had seen the big kids do. They also enjoyed reading
our new books, drawing, building and of course, swimming.
THE HUNT FOR
DANGER MAJOR
The Children had a blast this week
hunting for Danger Major through-
out Preschool, Primary and the
Playground. Apparently he was
being very cheeky indeed and
stealing their hats and socks. Eve-
ryone got so involved and played
dramatically in a large group for
over 30 minutes, supporting each
other and developing their imagi-
nation and creativity.

Reading Helpers
We are looking for helpers to lis-
ten to the students read.
Any morning you could stay for 10
minutes after assembly would be
greatly appreciated by staff and
students.
Culture and Community Programs
On a Wednesday each fortnight we would love to run some cul-
ture and community programs in the school.
We are looking for volunteers from the local community who
would be willing to share some skills and knowledge with the
students.
We would like to set up a program so that lots of different activi-
ties can be offered from a variety of perpectives.
Music Lessons
We are offering the schools video conferencing facilities for
students to have private keyboard or guitar lessons.
This would run after school for half an hour lessons.
Students wishing to learn guitar would need their own.
Students wishing to learn keyboard would be able to use the
schools.
The cost is $32.95 for a 30min lesson and the lessons would
run weekly.
