Part 1

a) Start the computer system and log on.

b) Use a password to open your email account.

c) Your assessor has sent you an email.

• select and open the email and read the message.

• reply to the email to say that you have found the files. (6 marks)

Part 2

You have been asked to help work out the total cost and let the Care Manager at the school

know.

Insert the USB memory stick into the computer.

a) Find the spreadsheet file on the memory stick. Now open the spreadsheet file and

enter

• the number of pupils taking part in Year 6 as 20

• a formula in cell D13 to enable the spreadsheet to show the total cost.

(Write down this cost. You will need it later.)

b) save the spreadsheet.

c) print the spreadsheet. (6 marks)

Part 3

Find the file with the list of contacts on the memory stick.

a) Open the file.

b) Find the email address for the Care Manager at the school.

c) Draft an email to send to the Care Manager to state the total cost for the visit.

d) Print the email.

They have asked for your help.

You have been asked to make a leaflet for parents to tell them about the trip.

Using the USB memory stick,

a) Open the file E3Leaflet

• change the layout to portrait.

b) For the leaflet

• using the E3FarmInfo file find an image showing a farm

• using the internet, find an image of a horse.

c) In the leaflet insert:

d) the image of the farm

e) the time as ‘2 pm’

f) ‘pick potatoes’ in the list of things to do

g) the image of the horse you found on the internet.

On the leaflet, change the visit day to Monday the 17th of October.

d) Format the leaflet to make information stand out. Use at least four different

formatting features.

For example, you could use

• alignment

• borders

• bullets

• colour

• font styles/size.

e) To finish the leaflet, check that the information is

• correct

• clear, so that parents can understand it.

f) Print the leaflet in portrait.

Using the USB memory stick

• open the file E3Safety

• answer the questions by filling out the blanks

• save the file

• print the file. (3 marks)

• Close all files and safely remove the USB memory stick.

• Use the correct procedures to shut down your computer.
