The Show will be held in the same field as 2018 Above is a map of the location.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. No responsibility will be accepted by the organisers for anything that may happen to competitors, their animals, property or helpers in connection with or arising from this show. It will be considered a condition of entry that each entrant agree to indemnify the Canisbay Show Committee against any legal action arising there from.

2. All livestock must be the property and been in possession of the Exhibitor from 1st Jan 2018 and up to the date of the Show.

3. No nomination entries will be accepted, both horse/pony and rider/exhibitor must be named.4. Each horse/pony can be entered in one class from the Ridden section and one class from the in-

hand section, unless otherwise stated on the schedule. There is no limit to the number of entries within the Novelty classes.

5. Horses/Ponies must be in the Show Field by 8am. Judging of Ridden and In-hand classes will start promptly at 08.30am. All other animals must be on the Show Field by 9.30am. Judging of these classes will start promptly at 10.00am

6. Equine exhibitors must display Catalogue Numbers when being judged.7. Exhibitors age to be taken on day of show.8. The decision of the Judges will in all cases be final. Any protests by Exhibitors must be

lodged in writing to the Secretary by 15:00 on the day of the Show with a £30 fee.

9. The committee reserves the right to alter, add or cancel any class, and to refuse any entry without stating a reason. Classes may not run to schedule stated on the entry form. Classes may clash, however we will try our best to avoid this. If clashes are unavoidable, the exhibitor must choose which class to complete in.

10. Parish rosettes can only be awarded to residents within the Canisbay Parish. The horse or pony must also belong to the Canisbay Parish within 6 months prior to show date.

11. The correct headwear must be worn at all times when mounted, conforming to the British Standard PAS015, VG1 01.0404, SNELL E2001, AS/NZS 3838 and ASTM F1163 and EN 1384(must follow along with permitted standard e.g. BSEN1384 alongside PASO15(1998 or 2011) as well as bearing the kite mark. A body protector is also recommended to ensure safety of the rider.

12. All horses or ponies must be four years old or over in any ridden or show jumping classes.13. Competitors must be in possession of the horses/ponies passport in order to compete. It is a

legal requirement to carry passports when travelling. Checks may be carried out.14. Handy pony riders must complete the obstacles unaided. It will be run individually as a timed

course with faults (obstacles not completed or attempted more than once will be classed as a fault). Scoring will be done using the fastest time clear with least faults.

15. In the Show Jumping competition the first round is not against the clock. Those jumping clear in the first round will go on immediately to the jump off section. This will be against the clock.

16. No misuse of the whip, equipment or practice fences will be allowed.17. Cattle must be accompanied with their passports18. Sheep and Goats must be tagged or tattooed. All sheep and goats born after 1st January 2010

must be Electronically Tagged. A movement document must be completed for moves both on and off the show ground, it is the keeper’s responsibility to send a copy of these to SAMU.

19. There is no compulsory summer dipping this year, but in the interest of ALL exhibitors it is recommended that all sheep are dipped or otherwise treated prior to the show with a scab approved dip / treatment.

20. Livestock - Cattle and Sheep entries are closed to the Agricultural Parishes of Canisbay, Bower & Dunnet. Area CPH codes 284,280,285.

21. Only entrants for whom their permanent place of residence is within the eligible parishes or own / rent land (tenants) on a permanent basis within the parish area are eligible to enter (unless otherwise stated below).

22. Those out with the defined boundary’s whom have previously shown at the Canisbay Show prior to 2019 remain permitted to enter.

23. All entry forms must include area CPH codes for the holding where those animals are to be transported from. Agricultural Area codes will be used in the first instance to define eligibility of those animals.

24. The show will be accepting entries for MV and Non-MV accredited animals, entry forms must be populated with the MV status of each animal. All entrants must abide by the Premium Sheep and Goat Health Scheme Show Rules and Conditions (available upon request). A current, fully completed and valid MV/CAE Health Status report must be provided to the show stewards prior to unloading of any MV Accredited animals.

25. All Class entries must be received by Friday 1st June 2019. All entry monies must be received with entries.

26. Any entries received by Email or Telephone will only be accepted once the entry fee is received.27. Should the Canisbay Show be cancelled all re-paid entries will be refunded on request from the

competitors less £1 administration charge. 28. No refund of entry money can be claimed under any other circumstance.
