• Program hours (420 = 11.2 weeks) - but the critters are
active March to December = 10 mos.
• Program length (start - finish dates)
• Distances between centres
• Volunteer retention/training
Next Steps 2014
• Deer, Deer, Deer – work with decision makers
• Expand the new WildSafeBC WARP mapping system
• Expand the use of WARP in the School system
• Identify a contact person in each community within the region to act
as a ‘first responder’ eyes and ears
• Work internally to update Bylaws or provide ‘Best Practices’ guides to
align with Bear Smart ideals
