A FREE workshop for community members and individuals Planning System Review Have you had good or bad experiences with planning authorities or planning laws in Victoria? The Planning Minister, Matthew Guy, has appointed an Advisory Committee to review Victoria’s entire planning system. According to the Terms of Reference: “The Committee is to consider submissions received and inform itself as it sees fit as to the issues and the opportunities for improvement and identify and prioritise the issues and initiatives that the Government should consider.” Many people have had frustrating experiences with planning in Victoria – be it objecting to a planning permit application, going to VCAT, or trying to protect the local environment. This is your chance to have a say about what you want the system to look like and how it is currently working (or not working!). It’s important to ensure that community voices (and not just developers and industry) are heard. There is a very tight timeframe for submissions to the Committee - due date is 31 August – with a report to the Minister early next year. Free Workshops The EDO is running a series of workshops across the State to help people like you or groups like yours get involved in the review. The workshops will discuss what needs improving in Victoria's planning laws, and how you can go about making a submission about your experiences with the planning system and make a case for what needs to be fixed. Planning System Review Have you had good or bad experiences with planning authorities or planning laws in Victoria?
