Ecotourism

Ecotourism or Environmental Tourism is a form oftourism that involves visiting relatively remoteand undisturbed natural areas and staying inlocal tourist facilities. Its purpose is to educate

tourists regarding nature, raise funds for wildlifepreservation and bring the beauty of nature tothe public eye.

including around the entire peninsula of 6ornwall.

foot and train, as an eco-friendly and

cheap alternative to driving.

Impact on theenvironment Ecotourists can also impact the

environment negatively. 9etting tourists

loose in a delicate ecosystem can lead topollution and impact on the environment inunforeseen ways. This has been observedin many animals that lived near touristsand became used to living o+ their garbageinstead of hunting, sometimes evenattacing tourists and locals in order totae their food.

:hile ecotourism providers are trying to minimi5e

impact on the environment, some tourists stillpollute these less populated areas. This defeats thepurpose of ecotourism and damages beautiful wildareas, thus destroying the natural habitat of many

animals.
