About the Summitelets Technomedia along with Department o IT, Government o Odisha is pleased to announce the
launch o the eOdisha Summit on 6 March 2013 in Bhubaneswar.
We put the spotlight on Odisha initiatives and eorts in bringing about a digitally inclusive society playing
the harbinger o a silent revolution in obscure towns and villages, o acknowledging the eorts and addressing
the challenges, and o bringing all stakeholders with common concerns into one platorm, named eOdisha.
eOdisha Summit shall aim at active knowledge sharing, showcasing o existing governance, Education,
Health, and IT initiatives in the state, deliberate on the way orward, and seek to provide a platorm to ex-
change ideas and promote capacity building.
Objectives To provide a platform to stakeholders in ICT to address regional issues and the challenges in the
development sector
To hightlight the regional perspectives and to draw the attention of concerned authorities towards
addressing these challenges
To highlight best practices at the community level and deliberate on ways of replicating the same
across dierent regions

Government o Orissa have accorded priority to the devel-
opment o the Inormation Technology Sector. In order to
hasten up the progress, a separate Department o Inorma-
tion Technology was ormed on 15 th March, 2000 with the
objective of developing, coordinating and supervising all
activities relating to Inormation Technology including com-
puter hardware, sotware, communication and Electronics
in the State.
The IT Policy of Orissa, 1998 has been recently replaced
by the ICT Policy of Orissa, 2004. The new policy is de -
signed to unleash the power o IT or the betterment o the
common citizens through e-governance and provide easy
and comfortable access to information by public. A num-
ber of incentives have been announced in the ICT Policy,
2004. The major attraction is that IT and ITES sector have
been made ree rom the hassles o clearance and routine
inspections o controlling and regulatory authorities.

Odisha Computer Application Centre, the Designated
Technical Directorate o Inormation Technology Depart-
ment, Government o Odisha, has evolved through years
as a center o excellence in Training, IT solutions and e-
Governance. It has contributed signifcantly to the steady
growth o IT in the state.
