美浜町では、多くの人が訪れる大きな神事から、

地域のなかでひっそりと受け継がれてきた民俗

行事まで、一年を通してさまざまな祭りが行わ

れています。特に新庄地区の人々は、豊かな山

と川に囲まれて暮らしていたことから、昔から

自然に対する畏怖と崇敬の念を抱いてきまし

た。その想いは祭りをはじめとした習俗に連綿

と受け継がれており、なかには天狗やキツネ、

カッパに関係するようなユニークな行事もあり

ます。「自然」「農耕」「信仰」が交わる独自の伝

統行事は、新庄地区に欠かせないものなのです。

In Mihama-cho, many festivals are held throughout the year,

from large Shinto rituals where many people come and visit,

to folk events that have been passed on quietly inside the

area. As they grew up in an area surrounded by rich

mountains and rivers, from old times the people of Shinjo

district have developed feelings of fear and veneration

toward nature. Those feelings are continuously handed down

to customs, such as festivals, and some are unique events

related to tengu (long-nosed goblin), fox and kappa (imaginary

water -dwel l ing creature . )

在美濱町,從很多人造訪的大型活動到各地區傳承的民間活動,ㄧ

整年有很多各式各樣的祭典.尤其在新庄地區,生活在具有豐饒山

川中,從以前開始這區的居民即畏懼和尊重自然.這種感覺透過風

俗習慣的祭典傳承下來,因此有像天狗或狐狸,河童相關的有趣活

動.「自然」「農耕」「信仰」相互交替的獨特傳統活動是新庄地区

地區不可少的.

At Shinjo's Hassaku festival held every September 1st, people pray for huge harvest by

carrying a large barrel on their shoulders and dedicating it to the shrine. This festival, on the

other hand, is also called "strange festival" as a tengu (long-nosed goblin) holding a rod of God

resembling a male's genitals chase women and poke them with the rod praying for prosperity

of descendants. Shinto ritual is taken place in Higashiaza, the east area, in the morning and in

Nishiaza, the west area, in the afternoon and the atmosphere totally differs. In Higashiaza,

festival music and dedication are carried out with great solemnity, whereas in Nishiaza the

youth carry around the barrel in the middle of the road so it is sometimes called "Abaredaru

(violent barrel)." The dance song "Hassaku ondo," full of banned words, are sang on their way

and makes it really exciting. Both the east and west are a must-see!

新庄地区の山にはさまざまな生き物が住ん

でいますが、近年、温暖化や猟師の数の減

少などにより、シカやイノシシの数が増加。

山野の植物を食べ尽くすことによる森林の

環境悪化や田畑を荒らす農作物被害など、

深刻な影響を与えています。新庄地区では、猟師たちによってイノシシやシカを捕獲。有

害獣駆除の一面はあるものの、その命を決して無駄にすることなく、食肉に加工して販売・

提供する取り組みも進められています。山で暮らす人間と生き物たち。お互いが共存して

いくためにも、猟師の存在は欠かせないのです。

猟師を知るためのワークショップも定期開催されており、山を歩きながらお話を聞くことができます。

新庄地區經常住著各種動物,近年因為穩暖化及獵師數的減少等原因,鹿及山豬的數量逐漸的增加.這些動物過多照成吃進大量

的山野植物破壞森林的環境以及破壞各種田園的農作物等,造成很大的影響.新庄地區,因為有獵師們所以可以捕獲山豬及鹿.有

雖有祛除破壞的一面,但也不會就白白浪費其生命,因此推動食用肉品加工銷售提供.在山裡生活的人民和生物們.彼此相互共存,

是存在獵師不可或缺的理由.

All sorts of animals live in Shinjo district, but

in recent years, the no. of deers and wild boars

has increased by global warming and the

decrease in the no. of hunters. This has

seriously affected us. The environment of

forests were deteriorated by their eating up

the plants of hills and fields and agriculture

was damaged as farms were ruined. In Shinjo

district, hunters catch these wild boars and

deers. Although it is an act of vermin on one

side, they try not to waste those lives and

process the meat and sell them on the other.

Hunters are indispensable for both to coexist.

度且仔細的解體呈現絕佳的味道.

何謂「開羅講座」,是祈求五穀豐收及家庭安全,疾病消災的除魔活動.每年1月6日的

晚上（現在是中午）該地區的孩子們會用慶典棒子繞著部落,在家的玄關拿棒子敲打

唱歌,然後領取麻糬和壓歲錢.「開羅講座」是源自「狩獵狐狸」.原本活動是為了趕出

給部落帶來災難的狐狸,和五穀豐收及家庭安全的祈福是分開進行的.但是,因為都是

小正月的活動,自然的兩個活動就合併舉行,而變成現在所稱的開羅講座.依照地方的

不同會有些許的差異,也有繞著房屋唱歌的地區.

"Kairo ko" is an event where people expel disasters and pray for the well-being

of their family and perfect health. At night on every January 6th (at present in

the afternoon), the district's children go around the village singing chants and

hitting the iwaibo (sacred wooden pole) at people's doorsteps and get rice cakes

and New Year's gifts. "Kairo ko" comes from "let's go fox hunting" in Japanese.

Originally, it was an event to get rid of bad luck by driving out foxes as people

used to say that fox brings about numerous evils. Prayers for huge harvest and

well-being of one's family were taken place separately. However, as they were

both Little New Year's events, the 2 started to be carried out at the same time

and turned into the present Kairo ko. There may be small differences between

districts. In some area, children go around each house singing songs.

「カイロ講」とは、五穀豊穣や家内安全、無病息災を祈願するとともに

災厄を祓う行事です。毎年1月6日の夜（現在は昼）に地区の子どもた

ちが祝い棒を持って集落内を回り、家の玄関先で棒を叩きながら唱え

歌をうたい、餅やお年玉をもらいます。「カイロ講」は「キツネを狩ろう」

という言葉が由来。本来は数々の災いをもたらすとされたキツネを村

の外に追い出す除災の行事で、五穀豊穣や家内安全の祈願とは別々に

行われていました。しかし、ともに小正月

の行事だったことから、いつしか2つの行

事が習合し、現在のカイロ講となりました。

地区ごとに多少の違いはありますが、歌を

うたいながら家々を回る地区もあります。

毎年、9月1日に行われる新庄の八朔祭りでは、五穀豊穣を願い、大

きな樽を担いで神社に奉納します。一方で、天狗が男根を模した神

棒を持ち、子孫繁栄を願い女性を追いかけながら神棒で突くという

ユニークな内容から、「奇祭」とも言われています。午前は東字（ひ

がしあざ）、午後は西字（にしあざ）に分かれて神事が行われますが、

その雰囲気は全く異なります。東字の祭りでは厳粛な雰囲気の中お

囃子と奉納が行われますが、西字の祭りでは、若者たちが樽を担い

で道中を駆け回るため、「暴れ樽」と呼ばれることも。道中歌われる

放送禁止用語が満載の「八朔音頭」も大いに盛り上がります。西と東、

どちらの祭りも必見です！

大桶獻給神社.另一方面,天狗手杖仿製陽具,追趕女人祈願繁

衍後代,因是用手杖戳的獨特內容,因此也稱為「奇祭」.儀式分

為上午的東字（東阿扎）,下午為西字（西阿扎）,兩者的氛圍皆

不同.東字的祭典是在嚴肅的氛圍中獻上音樂和奉獻,西字的祭

典,是年輕人提著桶在道路上奔跑,也稱為「暴亂桶」.一路上唱

著禁止播放的用語道「八朔音頭」振奮人心.不論是西還是東的

祭典都是值得參加！

なんと、地区の1/4が同じ苗字なのです。今回は長年新庄地区を見つめ

てきた3名の髙木さんに、地域の魅力をたっぷりと伺いました。
