    2018-2019

  • Export Statistics is a regular publication in a big book form of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) which is basically for library and professional use. The existing publication with all its information could not reach all the present and prospective stakeholders to foreign trade for the size of it. This year EPB has taken an initiative to edit this handy Pocket Statistics Book for making the export and related information accessible to all who need it. This Pocket Book aims to reach with its information to business owners and professionals, scholars, researchers, students, officials, buyers and all who have interest in the external trade data of Bangladesh. EPB’s basic responsibility is to take measures that contribute to the promotion of export trade of the country. Information dissemination sits at the core of such promotional activity. This book compiles Foreign Trade Statistics (FTS) including review of Bangladesh’s export performance, comparison of import and export performances, information on export and exportable commodities and services, major export goods and services, product and service-wise export performance, year-wise export and point to point growth, destination-wise export and so on. The figures have been supported with charts and graphs. There was an effort to accommodate most of the information from relevant base years starting with 1972. As the users proceed, they will be able to assess potential destinations of their goods and services. Most of the data available in this pocket book originates in the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and Bangladesh Bank (BB). Some old data are verified with those of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS). There will be efforts of improvement in the following issues.I firmly believe this publication will play a significant role as an effective tool to potential exporters and other traders, planners, policy makers, researchers, the business community and others. Comments and suggestions from users regarding any inclusion, omission or presentation of data for improvement of the publication are most welcome.I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the officials who contributed to compile data and edit in this publication.
