We FIND the Android standing at the console, her eyes dark. Then, as we SLOWLY APPROACH - ZZZT - her eyes flashonline(VFX).

3 INT. RAZA - MESS 3

TWO opens her eyes, sits up. Glances over at THREE stirringawake beside her. WTF? She keys her comm.

TWOAndroid, what just happened?

4 INT. RAZA - SYSTEMS CONTROL ROOM 4

The Android looks around.

ANDROIDUnknown. I was temporarily offline.

INTERCUT:

TWOYeah, you're not the only one. Ithink I passed out.

FIVE begins to stir awake.

TWO (CONT'D)Is Five okay?

FIVEYeah, I'm fine. Sort of.

TWOSix, come in.

SIX begins to rouse himself.

ANDROIDNegative. I believe the pulseemanated from the Blink Drive.

She and FIVE look up at the tower.

THREEPlease do not tell me you turnedthat thing on again. I thought wetalked about this.

FIVEWe didn't turn it on. We were justrunning a diagnostic.

ANDROIDIt would appear the drive self-initiated.

SIXHow is that possible?

ANDROIDTheoretically...it's not.

TWO and THREE join the others already on the bridge.

THREEWhere are we?

ANDROIDI'm not sure.

ANDROID (CONT'D)The navigational computer is havingtrouble fixing our position becausethe stars seem to be out of alignment.

TWOWas the computer damaged by the pulse?

FIVEI double-checked the system. Itseems fine.

ANDROIDI found something.

She brings up an image on the big screen. It shows an orange-hued star. It's small on the screen, only about the size ofa baseball relative to the size of the monitor.

ANDROID (CONT'D)This is a magnified image of thenearest star, approximately half alight year away. Mass andspectrographic analysis show it tobe an exact match for Pollux.

TWOWe were just in the Pollux system.

ANDROIDCorrect.

SIXSo we only traveled half a lightyear.

FIVEThat still doesn't explain why thestars are out of position.

ANDROIDMaybe it does.

The Android cocks her head, obviously calculating something.

ANDROID (CONT'D)Standby. I need to reconfigure ourstar maps to confirm my hypothesis.

THREEWhat hypothesis?

The Android continues to calculate. Beat.

ANDROIDHypothesis confirmed. We didn'tmove at all. Pollux did. As wellas all the other stars.

SIXWhat does that mean?

THREEIt means she finally blew a gasket. It was only a matter of time.

ANDROIDIndeed, that's exactly what it is.

TWOAndroid, you're not making any sense.

ANDROIDOf course I am. The relative positionof the stars changes over time.

FIVE(realizing)

Oh, shit...

ANDROIDSix hundred years worth of stellardrift, approximately. It's the onlypossible explanation.

TWOWait, are you saying we traveledthrough time?

THREEWe went six hundred years into thefuture!?

ANDROIDNo, of course not.

THREE(relieved)

ANDROIDAs I suspected, the station we knewas Pollux 4 is no longer here. Orperhaps I should say, it's not hereyet.

TWOWell, I guess that's confirmation.

THREE(still skeptical)

It's one system.

ANDROIDI've also been scanning all subspacefrequencies for typical interstellarchatter. There's nothing out there.

Beat, as it starts to sink in how alone they suddenly are.

SIXBut you can fix it, right? You canuse the drive to get us back.

ANDROIDI can try. But it may take sometime.

THREEVery funny.

He walks out.

ANDROID(to no one inparticular)

That wasn't a joke.

9 VFX - SPACE 9

The RAZA moves through normal space.



THREE, FIVE, and SIX are seated, finishing up their meal. TWO walks in from the back, tablet in hand.

TWOWell, I just finished the inventory. We've got enough protein packs tolast us a few more weeks, but that -

TWO (CONT'D)Was the last of the fresh fruit andvegetables.

Panicked reactions from FIVE and SIX -

SIXWhat?!

FIVEAre you serious?!

THREEGuys, it's not the end of the world.

TWOThat's also the last of the coffee.

What?! Are you serious?!

TWO/THREE/FIVE/SIXGotta do something! What about freshwater? Are you sure? I double-checked. What're we gonna do?

Suddenly, they fall silent at the sight of the Androidstanding in the doorway, hands clasped behind her back.

TWOTell me you figured it out.

ANDROIDI've spent forty-eight hours analyzingthe drive and am no closer to asolution. I still don't know why itself-initiated or how to repair it.

THREESo what are our options?

We're running low on supplies.

ANDROIDThen I suggest we set a course forthe only recorded civilization ofthis time period - Terra Prime, Earth.

(beat)It's difficult to be precise, but Ibelieve we'll be visiting some timein the early twenty-first century.

SIXWhat is that, the dawn ofcivilization?

THREEDid they even have working toiletsback then?

TWOWe'll use our own toilets. Okay,Android. We're going to Earth.

11 VFX - SPACE 11

The Raza drops out of FTL near Earth.

12 INT. RAZA - CORRIDOR 12

TWO, THREE, FIVE and SIX are marching down the corridor.

FIVEI've been reading up on this timeperiod. They have satellites.

TWONothing that can detect a ship withthe Raza's capabilities. The Androidsays most of their tech is devotedto communications, entertainment andsocial media posturing.

They enter the bridge -


To find the Android standing, back to them, listening toELEVATOR MUSIC. The music switches to COUNTRY AND WESTERN. And then abruptly changes to very loud, raging DEATHCORE.

The Android turns.

ANDROIDAh, there you are.

THREE points into the air, to indicate the noise.

THREEDo you mind?

ANDROIDOh. Sorry.

ANDROID (CONT'D)An interesting cultural mix.

THREEThis what you've been doing -listening to old-timey music?

ANDROIDNot exclusively. I also accessedthe planet's data hub. The securityprotocols in place are quite primitiveand easily defeated. I should beable to find us accommodations,transport - whatever we might need.

TWOTo do what?

ANDROIDLive on the planet.

FIVEYou want us to abandon the Raza?

TWOI thought you were bringing us hereto find what you need to fix thedrive.

ANDROIDIn this time period, I'm afraid that'sextremely unlikely.

TWO enters and takes a moment - looks around at the familiarsurroundings - is this the last time she'll see them?

FIVE (O.S.)You're not seriously thinking ofdoing this.

She turns to see FIVE in the open doorway.

TWOWe've got a few days worth of suppliesleft. We don't have to make anydecisions just yet.

FIVEThis ship is our home.

TWOThe ship is a floating metal box. And besides, if the Android is rightand we do have to abandon it, it'llalways be here if we want to comevisit.

FIVEMaking the best of a bad situation.

TWOWell, there are a few things I'm notgoing to miss - and being in constantdanger is at the top of the list.

She considers a disappointed FIVE -

TWO (CONT'D)Besides, if the Android can't fixthe drive, what else can we do?

THREE sits with Sarah -

SARAHSo you're leaving.

SARAHCan't you see how this changes things? You're not stuck here on this shipanymore. You can go down there,start a new life, have a chance with someone else. Someone real.

She stands up, throws her arms wide.

SARAHBut this isn't. As much as I wantit to be, it's not. It's a fantasy.

THREEOkay, but you know what IS real? How I feel about you.

SARAHNow, but how long until you startresenting me, stop coming to see me?

She motions to their surroundings.

SARAH (CONT'D)How long are we going to keeppretending this is enough?

THREEWhen did you start feeling this way?

SARAHFrom the moment I woke up alone inhere. At first, I thought convincingyou that we could be happy wouldmake it okay, but I've come to realizeI was just being selfish.

(beat)I can't live like this. I need more.

ON THREE. Suddenly, we hear the Android's voice -

ANDROID (O.S.)I require everyone's presence on thebridge.

THREE throws Sarah a look, then moves off.



The Android calls up an image on the big screen. It appearsto be North America, a small red point pulsing somewherewithin the state of Wisconsin. The others look on.

ANDROIDI've been running a detailed sensorsweep of the planet's surface. Ialmost didn't notice this. The signalis very faint.

TWOWhat is it?

ANDROIDIt's another Blink Drive. Or perhapsa past version of the same one.

Everyone is stunned.

THREEYou gotta be kidding me.

TWOHow do you know?

ANDROIDIt's a subspace signal, identical tothe one our drive was giving offbefore we found a way to mask it.

FIVEAnother Blink Drive? But...thatdoesn't make any sense.

ANDROIDIt's true that no technology evenremotely like this should exist inthe time period. There can only beone possible explanation.

TWOSomeone else from the future is downthere.

END ACT ONE


ACT TWO


Picking up where we left off.

THREEThis is perfect. Another drive isjust what we need. We go down there,grab it, and get the hell out ofhere.

ANDROIDThe signal is too weak to pinpointfrom orbit. I've determined it issomewhere within a small communitycalled Fort Falls, Wisconsin.

She calls up an image, no doubt taken from the internet, ofa leaflet that has the look of something put out by the localchamber of commerce, with a picture of the town and "WELCOMETO FORT FALLS" emblazoned on it.

FIVEWait a minute. If it does turn outto be the same Blink Drive, only sixhundred years earlier, then we can'ttake it without creating a paradox.

SIXWhat are you talking about?

ANDROIDA paradox results from any change inthe timeline that eliminates thecircumstances that brought us backin the first place.

FIVEIf it's the same drive, then sixhundred years from now, somehow it'ssupposed to wind up on that station,where I found it. But if we takeit, then it never gets there, andthen we never go back in time totake it.

Beat.

SIXThen problem solved. Who cares ifit doesn't make sense, just as longas it works.

ANDROIDIt's also possible that in a moredistant future, beyond even our own,more blink drives will be createdand used to travel through time. This could be one of them.

THREE looks at FIVE.

THREEThere, you see.

ANDROIDHowever, Five is right to beconcerned. If we do create a paradox,the results could be...less thandesirable.

TWOCare to be a little more specific?

ANDROIDOf course no one knows for certainwhat would happen, there are competingtheories. We may simply return to afuture that we find unrecognizable.

SIX shrugs.

SIXIt wasn't that great to begin with.

ANDROIDOr we may all simply cease to exist.

Yikes.

TWOThen we better hope it's not thesame drive.

ANDROIDIt's not just the drive. As I said,any significant change to the timelinecould result in a paradox, so Isuggest we maintain a low profile.

She looks at them.

ANDROID (CONT'D)We might want to start with a changein wardrobe.

The Raza hangs in planetary orbit.

20 INT. RAZA - CORRIDOR OUTSIDE THE AIRLOCK 20

THREE rounds the corner in his regular clothes, looking nodifferent than usual. He comes upon the rest of the crew -looking decidedly different in outfits that are reworkedversions of their own, altered hairstyles and make-up.

THREEYou guys look ridiculous.

ANDROID (O.S.)They look contemporary.

They turn as the Android approaches. She's done her hair,make-up, concealed her tattoo, and wears a beautiful outfit.

ANDROID (CONT'D)Each of you are archetypes of theera.

Steps up to TWO in a t-shirt, sweater, her hair in a ponytail -

ANDROID (CONT'D)Soccer mom.

On to FIVE wearing black clothing, black mascara -

ANDROID (CONT'D)Goth chick.

On to SIX wearing the suit he wore to EOS-7 but with glasses -

ANDROID (CONT'D)Salary man.

And, finally, THREE wearing his regular outfit -

ANDROID (CONT'D)And slob.

TWOAnd you're...?

ANDROIDAn upwardly mobile suburbanprofessional.

ANDROIDUnfortunately, the upgrade was damagedby the mind-hack, but my ability toaccess the planetary data hub makesme an indispensable source ofinformation for this outing.

SIXStill, I'm not so sure -

They pick up a couple of carrying bags sitting by the airlock.

ANDROIDI was able to manipulate the planetarydata hub to establish false identitiesand bank accounts for all of us.

THREEIf it's that easy to steal, I mightstart to like it here.

ANDROIDI also rented a house under TWO'salias.

SIXYou really think we'll be here thatlong?

ANDROIDBetter safe than sorry. And homeless.

A van pulls into the driveway of a quaint suburban home. It's passengers disembark - an odd-looking bunch - our crew.

REVEAL they are being observed through some window slatsfrom an upper floor of the house across the street. We heara young boy's voice -

JAKE (O.S.)The Shapiro's finally rented theirhouse.

ON three twelve year olds spying on the new neighbors fromacross the street: Jake, ETHAN, and MADISON.

MADISONThey look weird.

ON our crew taking their carrying bags out of the van. TheAndroid seems stiffer, awkward.

ETHAN (O.S.)They're like the family from BloodHouse.

BACK ON the kids.

JAKEWhat's that?

ETHANIt's a horror movie I watched withmy brother when my parents were away. It's about these new neighbors whomove in, and it turns out they eatpeople.

ETHANBecause they're cannibals.

MADISONYeah but why people?

ETHANI don't know. Maybe they tastebetter.

JAKEYou're right. There's somethingabout them...

On our crew. THREE has finished offloading their stuff. Hegoes to pick up multiple bags and struggles under the weight. He sets them down, checks his aching back. The Androidreaches over and grabs the bags with one hand, lifting themeasily.

Suddenly she turns her head and stares directly at our POV.

BACK ON the kids, dropping and ducking, spooked -

JAKE (CONT'D)Crap!

Suddenly, we hear the voice of Jake's mom, MRS. CONNOR

MRS. CONNORJake! Jake?!

JAKE (sighs)

Coming!

He leaves his friends.


24 INT. SUBURBAN HOME -- DAY 24

The crew walk into the home, it's fully furnished. TWOinforms THREE and SIX -

TWOBetter put that stuff out of sight.

THREE and SIX head upstairs with their carrying bags as TWO, FIVE, and the Android look around -

FIVEIt's like moving into a museum.

TWODid people actually live like this?

Suddenly, the DOORBELL RINGS. TWO throws a look to theAndroid who walks over to the window, peeks out -

25 INT./EXT. SUBURBAN HOME -- DAY 25

The family from across the street - MR. CONNOR, MRS. CONNOR,and young Jake - stand outside. Mrs. Connor holds a pie.

THREE (O.S.)What was that?


THREE and SIX hurry back down.

TWOSomeone's at the door.

ANDROIDI believe it's the neighbors.

They all exchange uncertain looks.

ANDROID (CONT'D)Does everyone remember their assignednames?

CREWYes. Yeah.

TWO answers the door.

TWOHello.

She throws a look to TWO who glances around -

Jake heads down the hall toward the bathroom then, holds up,and backtracks. While he's skulking, we hear -

MR. CONNOR (O.S.)Listen, we're hosting a little get-together later and would love youall to come.

TWO (O.S.)Oh, I don't know...

MRS. CONNOR (O.S.)It's nothing fancy, but it'd be aperfect opportunity for you to meetsome of the other neighbors.

TWO (O.S.)That's really kind of you but -

ANDROID (O.S.)We'd love to!

MR. CONNOR (O.S.)Great. Four o'clock. Just come asyou are.

He approaches a door, peeks inside -

Just a normal bedroom.

He moves on to another -

This bedroom has a bunch of carrying cases. He steals alook back down the hall and and slips inside -

28 INT. SUBURBAN HOME - UPSTAIRS ROOM -- DAY 28

Jake approaches the carrying cases, hunkers down, and unzipsone. He reaches in and pulls out a strange, hand-held device. Brow furrowed, he puts it back, moves onto the next bag. Pulls out FIVE's hacking box. He puts it back. Moves ontothe next bag. He opens it.

His eyes widen. He reaches in, pulls out -

JAKEWhoa.

The Duran Duran gun. Holy shit!

ACT THREE


Three portable hand-held detectors sit on the table.

ANDROID (O.S.)I've reconfigured these radiationdetectors to scan for the BlinkDrive's signal.

TWO, THREE, FIVE, SIX and the Android gathered around a table. The Android picks up one of the portable devices and flicksit on. Onscreen, data and fluctuating power bars.

ANDROID (CONT'D)In order to triangulate the signal,we'll need to take readings frommultiple positions around the town.

She slides one over to TWO, the other to FIVE, and keeps onefor herself.

TWOOkay, we'll split up. THREE, you'rewith me. SIX, you're with FIVE. Android -

ANDROIDNot so fast.

They hold up. The Android produces a note pad and proceedsto hand each of them a piece of paper -

ANDROID (CONT'D)We also need supplies.

TWO reads from her list -

TWOTwo quarts of milk. One dozen eggs. Butter -

ANDROIDUnsalted!

THREETwelve by nineteen non-stick cookiesheet?

The Professor turns to find FIVE at the bottom of the stairs,stunner at the ready, the Android beside her.

An open police office with several desks (one of which isoccupied my Inman) maps on the wall, coffee machine off tothe side, etc. SIX is handcuffed to one of the desks. Sheriff Vargas sits opposite him, eyeing SIX's fake driver'slicence. (A couple of Deputies busy themselves in the BG.)

SHERIFF VARGASMalvik?

SIXIt's Old Norse.

SHERIFF VARGAS(re: the fake id)

This is actually a pretty good fake. I've seen enough of them to know thedifference. What's your real name?

SIX is silent.

SHERIFF VARGAS (CONT'D)What do you know about that thing inthe forest?

Again, no answer.

SHERIFF VARGAS (CONT'D)You know I already called in thefeds. They thought it was a joke atfirst until I showed them pictures. Then they got serious real fast,flying in a team as we speak. Youmight want to consider the possibilityit'll be a lot more pleasant talkingto me than them.

FIVE is now standing on a platform that is connected to thepower unit. She is wearing a watch that Brophey gave her.

Professor Brophey finishes adjusting the equipment.

Another beat, then FIVE comes running down the stairs.

FIVESorry, got here as fast I could.

THREE looks at her, then back at the platform.

THREESonuvabitch.

FIVEYes, but we need to hurry.

TWO pulls the case with the drive out of the power unit.

TWOLast chance, Professor. You sureyou want to stay here?

PROFESSOR BROPHEYI've had my fill of the future. I'msorry.

They exit, taking the drive, and leaving him alone.

62 INT. SHERIFF OFFICE -- DAY 62

SIX is still cuffed to the desk.

SIXI need to go to the bathroom.

She grabs the keys from the deputy.

FIVEI preset the Marauder's engines tofire up in about ten minutes, and Itweaked them to give off a sonicpulse that'll disable everyone inthe area.

TWO uncuffs SIX.

FIVEEarlier today. Turns out I was theone who set off the proximity alert.

SIX(confused)

63 EXT. EDGE OF A FOREST -- DAY 63

The van pulls up.

Everyone is in the van. FIVE checks her watch.

As the cops mill around the Marauder, suddenly they hear thesound of the ENGINES FIRING UP. Everyone looks at the ship.

SHERIFF VARGASWhat the hell?

BOOM! A sonic wave blasts out from the ship in alldirections, dropping everyone in it's path.

66 EXT. EDGE OF A FOREST -- DAY 66

Everyone gets out of the van.

TWOThey'll only be out for a few minutes,so we need to get moving.

JAKE (O.S.)Wait!

They turn to see Jake, Ethan and Madison ride up on theirbikes, Ethan doubling Madison. Jakes sports a backpack.

THREEWhat the hell are they doing here?

FIVEIt's okay. They helped me.

She leaves the others to come over to talk to Jake, who isslightly ahead of the other two kids.

She gives him a quick kiss on the cheek. Then she turns andhurries off with the others. Jake watches her go.


Professor Brophey is alone amongst all his equipment. Heshuts off the various machines, turns down the dials. Hechecks his watch, then he looks around, beginning to wonderif he made the right call.

68 INT. EDGE OF A FOREST -- DAY 68

The kids are still waiting by the van. Suddenly, they hearthe sound of Marauders ENGINES, as the ship swoops overhead,then up and away.

JAKEGoodbye.

ANDROIDI'm not so sure about that. I alsoran a historical sweep on the peoplewe met in the past - and made acurious discovery.
