Type ETO Voltage Range 72.5kV to 550kV

Bushings for transformer to cable box or oil filled equipment.

Description

Epoxy resin impregnated paper condenser oil/ oil (ETO) bushings are

used for connecting transformers directly to cable boxes or oil f illed

equipment. The bushing may be mounted vertically or horizontally or at

any service angle.

The primary insulation of ETO bushings is made from superior grade

insulating paper and foil, w ound onto a mandrel, w hich forms partial

condenser layers to control electrical stress.

The inherent insulation properties of the cast epoxy makes it

unnecessary to use porcelain and any other protective enclosure, and

the insulation can contact w ith oil directly. The compact design of ETO

bushing is completely free of oil or pressurized gas, w hich greatly minimizes the risk of f ire

and explosion.

The bushing f lange dimensions and design of the bushing terminals can be adapted to suit the

specif ic requirements of both transformer and oil f illed equipment. Corona shields may be

provided if required. Draw lead connection designs can also be provided.

Type EGA Voltage Range 145kV to 550kV

Condenser bushings for direct connection between

metalclad SF6 switchgear and outdoor equipment.

The bushings in the EGA range are suitable for connecting

outdoor equipment to SF6 metalclad sw itchgear or ducting

and may be mounted vertically, horizontally orat any angle

betw een.

The primary insulation used in this range of bushings is

condenser graded, epoxy resin impregnated paper -

ERIP. The bushings are intended as alternatives to

conventional gas-f illed porcelain. Use of ERIP provides a

compact bushing design w hich is completely free of oil. The lack of oil or pressurised gas in

the bushing greatly minimises the risk of f ire or explosion.

Used extensively for many years, ERIP has a proven reliability record in many applications and

is virtually free of partial discharges at test voltages.

The cast epoxy insulation has inherent gas tight properties and combined w ith an effective

sealing ring system provides security for the gas environment and a gas leakage rate of <10-5

torr litres per second is guaranteed. The design caters for the effect of differential expansion

across the normal operating temperature range.

The connecting f lange is impervious to gas and incorporates a self grounding test tapping for

capacitance and tan delta measurement during periodical maintenance.

The bushing f lange dimensions and design of the SF6 terminal can be adapted to

suit the specif ic requirements of the SF6 equipment. The design of the outdoor

terminal can also be adjusted to suit connections to the outdoor equipment or overhead lines.

Type EAA Voltage Range 72.5kV to 252kV
