Background In 2012 Together was successful in securing funding from the Department of Health for a three-year project to roll out and evaluate the Your Way model.

As part of the your Way Evaluation, in late March or early April 2014 we will be putting on four Learning Events, one in the North of England, one in the Midlands, one in London and one in the South East.

We are looking for four people, one in each region, to assist in the creation, organisation and facilitation of these events. This post would ideally be filled by someone who has benefited from using a Your Way Service currently or in the recent past, or someone with lived experience of mental health issues.

Main TasksTo assist in the organisation, preparation and facilitation of one Your Way Learning Event, also to act as a focal point for attendee enquiries.

Responsibilities Attend planning meetings and assist with the creation of the event Assist with the practical planning duties: researching the venue, venue hire, sourcing

caterers, booking event equipment Assist with the creation of event documents: leaflets, running order, seat layout,

name badges Promote event to people using Your Way services, staff and volunteers

Act as first point of contact for people interested in attending Assist with design of event including guest speakers and event activities Assist with emails, letters and telephone calls to potential and confirmed attendees Assist with updating of attendee database Liaise with venue and suppliers prior to event Facilitate on the day of the event, including: handing out event packs, giving

attendees their name badges, keeping register of attendance, assisting with enquiries about the event’s facilities, collating feedback questionnaires and ensuring attendees are assisted with any mobility or support requirements

Attend post event evaluation meeting

Person Specification Someone who has used a Your Way service or has lived experience of mental health

issues Ability to travel flexibly Basic numeracy and literacy skills Excellent at timekeeping and punctuality Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to make phone calls, texts - taking notes and logging enquiries Experience of using Word, Excel, email and Internet research Good organisation skills, prioritising workload Ability to deal with enquiries tactfully and with sensitivity Ability to work with users of mental health services in a calm, confident and sensitive

manner Any other reasonable duties required to ensure the smooth assistance in the

organisation of the Learning Event.

LocationOne event will be in the North of England (near Rochdale/Barnsley), one in the Midlands (near Birmingham), one in London and one in the South East (Lewes/Bexhill). Flexible working arrangements are encouraged with home working and desk space in a nearby Your Way Services organised per candidate.

Hours/days7 hours per week, on average, although flexible working arrangements will apply. Post will be for 9 weeks.

Recruitment Process
