Timeline - Early Start Imperative to Erase the Undercount / Canvassing Plus for Committed Response l Houston's 2000 & 2010 Census Undercounts resulted from LATE STARTS. JAN 2020 Canvassing is too late. l Trust Building to overcome Fear of Census requires repeated approaches over time for Undercount families l Engagement training, coordination, Team Building, strategic deployment for 40+ Campuses takes 3-4 months. l HCC "Make Youth Count!" Students teach us diverse campus-centric engagement is a Process & takes 2-3 months l "Make Youth Count!" & ACSSC are training and deploying students NOW. Brown Foundation has declined to fund. u Proposal submitted to Strake Foundation for SW Pilot / Campus Engagement ($140K) - TBD u COH via Lopez Negrete contract has made $80K available by OCT 2019.
