I. Program Overview

California law authorizes DLC and the four OPOs to

register an individual using an internet-connected

device

• By collecting information from an individual

• By collecting information from a driver license or

DMV-issued ID card

A. User Requirements

Each user must:• Be an active Donate Life Ambassador

• Pass a criminal background check

• Complete eRegistration training

• Read and electronically sign:• Confidentiality Agreement • Acceptable Use Policy

• Only use OPO-issued devices • Do not install or remove software/applications• Do not use a personal device• Not for personal communication/entertainment

Confidentiality Agreement & Acceptable Use Policy• All users are required to agree and sign the agreement the first time they login to the eRegistration application• It will be required every year on the anniversary of the first login• The information is kept confidential and secure by Donate Life California• Do not shared login information• Each user has a unique username and password

II. Using the Device

Turn on the device by holding down the power button for three seconds

Enter the passcode to unlock the device provided to you

Information Screen

There are three ways to enter in information:

1. SWIPE the driver license or ID care using the external card reader

2. SCAN the back of a driver license or ID card with the device’s camera

3. ENTER the personal information into the data fields

SWIPE

The external magnetic card reader connects to the tablet by inserting the metal piece into the headphone port.

Ensure the device is properly connected by firmly pressing down so no metal is showing.

If the card reader is NOT connected properly, the “Magnetic Swiper Status” will be set to “Disconnected.”

When swiping the driver license or DMV-issued ID card make sure the magnetic strip located on the back of the card is facing you.

Be sure to run the card through the swipe device as quickly as you can.

After a successful swipe, the data will populate the fields below and a “Successful swipe!” message will appear.

If unsuccessful, an error message will appear. You can either repeat steps 3 to 4, or you may use the SCAN method or ENTER in the data.

Once the information is entered, review the information to make sure all required fields are entered. Then have the individual confirm the information.

Turning Off the Device

Most devices have a power button located either on the top or the side of the screen.
