The program that makes a differenceFlexible, integrated, personalized, diversified
ESSEC MBA is an innovative program designed to bring students
up to speed with the challenges of the ever-dynamic business
world. We strongly believe that when equipped with the best
tools, individuals will make the best choices for themselves.
A flexible, customized curriculum lets MBA students combine
work and study as they wish.
Students choose from around 200 courses each year, and may
specialize in a particular field or discipline of their choice.
To achieve a seamless integration between classroom and
workplace, all students must have completed nearly two years
of validated professional experience by the time they graduate.
A mentoring program means that all students are guided from
the beginning of the program until graduation. Skills are
continuously assessed on an ongoing basis, with faculty, staff
and alumni serving as mentors, and bringing with them a wide
range of experience and expertise.
ESSEC MBA recognizes the importance of cultural diversity, and
welcomes students with a wide range of profiles in terms of
nationality, background, qualifications and experience, including
those just out of college.
At ESSEC we never stop innovating: we encourage our students
to do likewise, and to feel responsible for the communities
which they will be managing and leading in the future.

After studying in Morocco, I waslucky enough to be offered a placein the ESSEC MBA, the onlymanagement school which wouldreally give me the chance to developmy entrepreneurial aspirations.
My project matured thanks to thecourses I followed, and in particularthrough ESSEC Ventures, the
entrepreneurship seed captital fund incubator.I joined ESSEC Ventures, alongside other start-ups,and this allowed me to move my project throughto the operational phase, after some intensivementoring from the Incubator Director and froma company director.

ESSEC offers unique backing to students whostart up their own companies: it is the onlymanagement school to offer a comprehensiverange of courses to all its students, plus a500-square-meter incubator - the largeststudent incubator in France-, and it has the
capacity to fund the best projects through its own privateequity fund dedicated to students - a worldwide exceptionin business schools.
More than 35 student projects were incubated in 2008, infields as varied as Internet, media, sustainable development, mobile phone services, cultural services, and the sportsindustry. 100 start-ups have been created since 2001,and almost all of them are still in business today.
Julien MOREL, Executive Director, ESSEC Ventures
ESSEC has built its reputation through its exceptionally close links with the business community, a factor that enrichesthe overall academic experience. Companies participate actively in the MBA through academic courses, student recruitmentand sponsorship of faculty chairs, designed to engage in teaching and research in specific sectors. In addition to companyinvolvement in the curriculum, ESSEC helps students create their own companies through ESSEC Ventures which runs thelargest student incubator in France.
"The creation of the Diversity and Performance Chair withAir France, Deloitte and L'Oral is the result of a sharedconviction that diversity-related issues have become acrucial factor in the strategic vision of the firm. While thetopic of diversity has received much attention as a social andpolitical issue, an understanding of diversity as a key elementfor firm survival and growth makes it necessary formanagers to also deal with it head-on. As such, we needto contemplate and negotiate the discourse of diversity and
explore its meanings within organizational and managerialcontexts. We also need to investigate factors impactingdiversity in the workplace, and the consequences of diversityon firm performance and growth. The partnerships generated bythe chair are an opportunity to address these needs."

The "Apprentissage Track" is a veryinteresting contract for MBA students, especially for those coming fromcountries like India where the highexchange rates and high domesticeducation loan rates make the cost ofthe MBA very high. The track not onlyfunds your entire tuition fees but on topof it, gives a monthly remuneration for
the entire duration of the contract i.e. two years.Your obligation to the contract is to study for 1 yearand work for the company for 1 year and you canchoose the rhythm of working as weekly,3 months or 6 months. The Apprentissage Track isnot only about financial aid, it provides an amazingopportunity to spend a long time in the company. You have more responsibility than an intern so you geta very valuable work experience. Finally, it gives youan opportunity to prove your mettle to your futureemployer since many students get offered a full-timejob at the end of the track. In sum "Apprentissage"is a win-win-win situation for the student, company
and ESSEC by helping more students in financingtheir studies.

The Singapore Campus
Singapore: an educational, financial and cultural hub
The Singapore campus is the third ESSEC campus in existence. It was opened in 2005 with three main objectives:
to strengthen participants understanding of issues specific to Asia.
to increase ESSEC activity on an international level.
to offer a welcoming structure for researchers and professorswishing to develop their professional activity and studies.
Via its history, environment, infrastructures and its strategic decisionto be at the heart of Asian learning industries and higher education,Singapore has rapidly established itself as the idealsite for ESSECs Asian campus.
Situated between India and China, Singapore has become the genuine
hub of Asian higher education, offering an amalgam of differentAsian societies that facilitates integration for foreign students.
The city itself is renowned for offering a happy blend of tradition and
modernity and is characterized by a multicultural and multilingualsociety. The standard of living is amongst the bestin Asia, with state-of-the-art facilities and ever-increasing business
implantation serving as proof of the continued rise of the cityand the country as a whole.
The Singapore Campus,in the very heart of the business
district and located on thepremises of the National Library.
The Asian track program offered by ESSEC
was for me an incredible opportunity to spend6 months in Singapore, an astonishingmulticultural city-state island and a wonderfulgateway to the whole South-East Asianregion, about which I knew almost nothing. The courses taught at the Singapore Campusby very highly-qualified professors gave usan insight of the extremely rich culture of the
countries in the region, and a better understanding of theireconomic choices and forthcoming challenges. We were even offered Chines lessons, which were sointeresting that I intend to keep on learning this language.
Actually, the Asian track opened for me a wide range ofboth career and life new opportunities.
