®ACCESSIBLE SHOWERING SOLUTIONS
Essence Shower Doors
Easa Technical Collection
1. HANDLE/GRIP:The grip provides comfort to the ergonomic and easy to use handles as well as offering a soft grey colour contrast (optional blue colour for those with visual difficulties).
2. MAGNETIC CLOSURES:Strong magnetic strips and durable water seals enhance the opening and closing functions.
3. LOCKING HANDLE (OPEN):Our uniquely designed handle allows those with reduced mobility to easily open and close the doors.
4. LOCKING HANDLE (CLOSED):In this position, the handle operates as a key locking feature and has no sharp edges.
5. RISE & FALL HINGE SYSTEM:The 180° rise & fall hinge is bi-directional and rises when opening in either direction, preventing drag across the floor. The doors are spring loaded for smooth action and lock into position when fully open.
Essence Collection
We believe that everybody without exception should benefit from functional, strong and dependable accessible showering solutions, it is from this belief that we created the Essence Collection. The lifetime antibacterial properties of the aluminium frame and plastic parts are innovative and a highly functional addition to this solid and dependable accessible showering option.
The original Easa product The Essence of what we do
Perhaps one of the main reasons for the continued popularity of the Essence range after years on the market, has been the continual refinement of the product following advice and feedback from customers and healthcare professionals. Its strength and versatility comes from our engineering ability to adapt the product, always staying at the forefront of the international accessible shower market.

Essence Half Height Enclosure Full Height Pole Fitting InstructionsUse a pipe and voltage detector to make sure that there are no wires and/or pipes where you are boring holes in the ceiling.
4. Remove and keep the screw from the block that attaches the curtain rail to the pole.
2. When the pole is to be connected to the ceiling, it is necessary to measure from the top of the fi xed panel to the ceiling. The ceiling end of the pole may need to be cut depending on the ceiling height. Using a suitable tool (hacksaw or similar) cut the pole approximately 10mm less than the taken measurement.
3. When the pole is to be connected to the ceiling, slide the ceiling mounting bracket onto the pole keeping the fl anged end uppermost until it is level with the top of the pole.
1. Remove and discard the blanking plug from the top of the installed half height fi xed panel.
5. At the top inside face of the fi xed panel, using a screwdriver carefully slide the grip cover strip down to reveal a hexagonal screw. Check that the hexagonal screw is suffi ciently loose and then insert the pole into the top of the fi xed panel. Ensure that the block is kept facing into the shower tray. Tighten the hexagonal screw and slide the grip cover strip back into place.
6. Check the plumb in both directions with a builders level and mark the position of the pole on the curtain rail.

7. Remove curtain cover strip from the top channel of the curtain rail. Using a 3.5mm drill, bore a hole in the centre of the top channel at the position marked. It is necessary to drill a larger hole at the back of the channel only, to accommodate the screw head.
8. Insert the screw into the hole in the curtain railthrough the block into the pole. Replace the curtain cover strip.
9. When the pole is to be connected to the ceiling, slide the ceiling mounting bracket to be fl ush with the ceiling. Check the plumb in both directions and mark the location of the holes on the ceiling, then bore holes and attach the ceiling mounting bracket to the ceiling using suitable screws.
10. Tighten the hexagon screw on the side of the ceiling mounting bracket. To ensure a proper ceiling mount it may be necessary to add a bridge between the ceiling joists above the plasterboard and screw the ceiling mounting bracket into it.

Information and cleaning instructions for yourEasa shower doors
Please read the following information carefully
Product description of Easa doors
Your Easa shower doors have been manufactured to provide an environment for you to enjoy a private, partially enclosed showering experience whilst attending to your personal hygiene. A weighted curtain will ensure you can have total privacy if you are able to shower independently.
The height of the doors are 760mm and their purpose is to provide privacy and dignity for the user as well as protection for an assistant so they remain dry, and greatly reduces the risk of water leaking onto the bathroom floor. The dimensions and features of the doors vary depending on the showering area & model fitted. Fitting instructions are supplied and contain an illustration of the doors. You should keep these instructions for your reference.
Cleaning instructions / maintenance
Essence Range
The powder coated surfaces on the Essence shower doors have an antibacterial agent to reduce the risk of cross infection. Essence shower enclosures feature an antibacterial agent in all of the plastic and the textured parts such as the locking handles and hinges. The door panels are manufactured from virtually indestructible polycarbonate. It is important to ensure that a simple cleaning regime is followed to maximise the anti-bacterial agent’s effect. After showering, ensure the doors are washed using a damp non-abrasive cloth immersed in warm water containing a mild household detergent. Wipe any excess water, but leave the doors to dry naturally.
The anti-bacterial agent works well in a humid environment by migrating to the surface to destroy the bacteria.
DO NOT USE:Abrasive cleanersBleachHair colorants
These products may reduce the life span and theeffectiveness of the antibacterial agent and can discolour your shower doors.
IMPORTANT
The anti-bacterial agent does not replace good cleaning practices.
WARNING
Never use the shower doors to support your weight when transferring in/out of the shower or to steady or guide you in/out of the shower area. Care should be taken when in and around the shower area as wet surfaces increase the risk of slipping. It is advisable that grab rails are installed in the showering area to facilitate safer transfers.
If a family member, care worker, home help or privately employed cleaner is responsible for the cleaning of your shower please encourage them to read these instructions.
If the doors are used in an environment such as a hospital or nursing home where some clients may have MRSA, it may be necessary to seek additional advice from the Infection Control Nurse regarding showering management of clients.
Other maintenance information
In some cases the bottom enclosure seals may have to be replaced after a period of years. There may be a charge for replacement seals.

It is safe, effective and permanent and is used to protect against bacterial growth, mould and mildew.
The material has been tested by an independent microbiological laboratory to the internationallyrecognised standard JIS Z 2801:2000. The antibacterial effect is rapid and bacterial growthcan be inhibited within 2 hours according to laboratory tests. The antibacterial material is not recommended to replace or reduce cleaning procedures but as anadditional barrier to bacterial growth.

Easa Warranties*
The Charpy impact test, also known as the Charpy v-notch test, was developed in 1905 by the French scientist Georges Charpy. It is a standardized high strain-rate test which determines the amount of energy absorbed by a material during fracture. This absorbed energy is a measure of a given material’s toughness and acts as a tool to study temperature-dependent brittle-ductile transition. It is widely applied in industry, since it is easy to prepare and conduct and results can be obtained quickly and more cost-effectively.
The values are as follows;
POLYcarbonate
MATERIAL CHARPY NOTCHED ISO 179-1:2010 resistance to impact testing KJ/m2
POLYCARBONATE (used by EASA) >40
PETG 10
PMMA (synthetic polymer of methyl methacrylate) 2
