Easy to Install, built for Custom ConfigurationThe Stream Media Server system comprises one or more ContentCentre media

storage servers connected via Ethernet to one or more ContentPlayer media

players. ContentCentre stores BDs, DVDs, music and pictures and delivers

this content to ContentPlayers connected locally to AV systems. Equipped

with gigabit networking capability, the ContentCentre appears as simple NAS-

style network shares of music, movies, TV shows and pictures on screens or

touch tablets. Drag files to the folders from other NAS on the network, or from

the ContentCentre to one or more players as you would with any network

management. The design of the Stream Media Server system is such that it is

infinitely expandable, according to network capacity and allows for playback

of different media per room with different audio

soundtracks if required.

The ContentPlayer can

automatically down-mix multi-

channel audio soundtracks for two-channel

audio playback devices (e.g. Smart TVs) when

required. For example, in installations where the

equipment is centrally located in an equipment rack, one

ContentPlayer can be installed for dedicated multi-channel

full HD audio and video playback in a home cinema, whilst another can be

connected to an HDMI distribution system to provide stereo playback to other

areas in the home. Local control over what to watch is through a new optional

2.4GHz remote, which flips to reveal a keyboard for fast title search through

a window that automatically appears on the TV or projection screen. There’s

a comprehensive choice of menu views including YouTube preview links for

each film and a wide range of audio and video calibration tools, which offer

useful functionality such as the memorising of resume points for every stored

movie and audio offset for the perfect syncing of sound and picture. Content

can be managed as well via iOS and Android devices through Apps like XBMC

Constellation and XBMC remote.

For ContentCentre management, a new clear and simple WUI, available

from any web browser, auto-scales to the browser window, shows rip progress,

the cover art of media being captured, the disk space available and a colour

bar-graph representation of media storage.

ContentCentre server has a stable, Linux-based core

enhanced by specialised storage, processing and power

supply technology selected for minimal heat, noise and

energy consumption, proven and optimised for 24/7

operation in rack environments. A high-speed slot-loading

media drive (capable of BD rips in as little as 35 minutes)

feeds up to three highly reliable energy-efficient 24/7 4TB

hard drives designed and extensively tested for use in NAS

applications. All this in a slender, passively cooled design,

manufactured entirely from aluminium and, as installers

have told us, resolute in any hot rack.

From the ContentCentre you’ll have instant access to

up to 12TB of upgradable storage for Blu-ray, DVD, CD

and picture content, distributed across drives, which are

combined in a single logical volume and multiple high

definition streams - video up to 1080p/24, two-channel audio

to 24/192 and multi-channel DTS HD - to players around the

home. Video processing in the player is from a dedicated

video co-processor that frame-matches media playback to

avoid the annoying glitches inherent in competing products -

watch 24fps capability for totally smooth movie action.

Versatile, Compatible Media storageDepending on type, the ContentCentre stores uncompressed

media in standardised formats ready for delivery to

ContentPlayers and other playback devices. In addition to the

read-only shares of music, movies, TV shows and pictures, an

overall SMB/CIFS share called ‘Files’ provides read and write

access to all of this media, which is useful for applications

where the user may want to delete or rename the media.

When the ContentCentre detects optical media, it uses a

number of algorithms in combination with online databases

to ID the media. To provide improved metadata and artwork,

particularly for European region media, the ContentCentre’s

lookup engine now offers the option of using the mymovies.

available to use.

During capture, the ContentCentre automatically identifies

the main content on the disc and discards adverts, trailers

and junk, saving space and time.

TV shows are automatically stored in a separate folder,

which can be easily accessed from the ContentPlayer

TV Shows menu. Captured movies and TV shows are

contained in lossless .mkv format, which preserves

all their HD video and audio integrity – even subtitles.

Music is stored as uncompressed FLAC files and made

available as a network share for NuVo, Control4 and

Sonos media players. FLAC not only provides a highly

compatible space-conscious file format, it also supports

advanced media tagging and high bitrates unavailable

from other lossless formats. By implementing FLAC, the

ContentCentre even has support for the capture of media

from higher resolution DVD Audio discs.

Stream’s system is designed to be the ultimate high

performance media platform for whole-house entertainment,

allowing command over a vast library of HD content from a
