But these are effective only if all of the above technologies are incorporated in one single purifier. This is because reverse osmosis removes the essential minerals for water and a TDS controller is necessary to retain the mineral content. UV technology alone is not sufficient to remove dissolved impurities like pesticides, rust heavy metals etc. So, one should install double purification water purifiers with RO+ UV/UF + TDS controller.

Essentials of Potable Drinking Water and Ways to Purify Water

Water is an essential constituent of the human body. The human body is about 50 to 60% water. The

need for drinking potable water can be understood from the fact that water performs a lot of vital

functions. It acts as a shock absorber in the form of cerebrospinal fluid and amniotic fluid, controls

the temperature of the body, aids in the removal of excessive salts in form of urine etc.

Contaminants in Water

The increasing level of pollution in water is leading to the increase in the number of life-threatening

diseases. There are numerous pollutants that are making their way into the food chain. Heavy

metals like arsenic, mercury etc., can give rise to serious neurological and muscular disorders. Few of

these metals with a high level of toxicity can also lead to genetic disorders.

Besides, polluted water also contains the microorganisms that are responsible for causing diseases

like Typhoid, Cholera etc. So, it is essential that water is consumed in a purified form. There are

many ways to purify water of which, boiling is the oldest means. However, toxic pollutants cannot be

removed only by the process of boiling. One would need to install water purifiers to ensure access to

clean and safe drinking water.

The Most Advanced Water Purification technologies

At present, the RO and UV/UF technologies are the most advanced means of purifying water. But

these are effective only if all of the above technologies are incorporated in one single purifier.

This is because reverse osmosis removes the essential minerals for water and a TDS controller is

necessary to retain the mineral content. UV technology alone is not sufficient to remove dissolved

impurities like pesticides, rust heavy metals etc. So, one should install double purification water

purifiers with RO+ UV/UF + TDS controller.
