INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION
INTERNING AT JACKSON FAMILY WINES
We’ve hosted students from nearby Sonoma State University, as well as from as far away
as Virginia Tech, Emory University and University of Chicago. Interns work in the areas of
marketing, finance, supply chain and more. They receive career training from our Employee
Experience team, including courses on building their personal brand and projecting
confidence, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the wine business, from vine to glass.
To ensure we attract students from a variety of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, all
interns are paid a competitive wage. Graduate interns receive pay commensurate with their
professional experience.
Through this program we are fostering future leaders at Jackson Family Wines, including
Anna Rogge. A graduate of Sonoma State University with a concentration in wine business
strategies, Anna interned during the summer of 2016 in our supply planning department.
After her internship, Anna began a part-time job in our Siduri Wines tasting room and today
works full-time as an International Marketing Coordinator. Focusing on wines crafted by
vigneron Pierre Seillan, Anna works with her colleagues to promote wines both domestically
and internationally.
After researching different wine businesses, working at
Jackson Family Wines became my dream. The wine quality
was impressive, and I especially liked how La Crema and
Kendall-Jackson wineries were relatable for someone who
was just finishing college. I ’ve learned so much about the
importance of sustainability and integrity while working
for this company.

OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
In 2016, we launched an internship program to build a pipeline of candidates to
become the next generation of leaders at Jackson Family Wines. To date, we have
hosted 16 interns, both undergrads and those seeking graduate degrees, from
universities throughout the U.S. Read on to learn about how the program has
benefited all involved — and how we’re trying something new in 2018.

At Net Impact, we empower the emerging leaders in our network through programs that give them the opportunity
to be at the forefront of social change. Kendall-Jackson is an iconic brand in an incredibly important sector of the
environmental discussion — agriculture. This competition gives our teams a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes to
learn not just about marketing, but about everything that goes into making wine sustainable, from vine to glass.

WHAT WE’RE DRINKING THIS MONTH:
NEW INTERNSHIP FORMAT FOR 2018: KENDALL-JACKSON AND NET IMPACT BUSINESS CASE COMPETITION
In 2018, we wanted to structure our internships
to showcase the Jackson family’s commitment to
sustainability and make a case for leveraging our
significant sustainability progress into the core
pillars of Jackson Family Wines’ flagship winery,
Kendall-Jackson. We turned to Net Impact, a
global student network of more than 100,000
emerging leaders focused on making a positive
change in the workplace, to create a partnership.
Together we collaborated on a sustainability
case competition that invites Net Impact chapter
teams to create and submit marketing campaigns
that communicate Kendall-Jackson’s significant
sustainability progress and innovation to reach
new consumers. Specifically, the campaigns are
required to integrate Kendall-Jackson’s attributes of family, heritage and quality that have established it as the number one
selling Chardonnay for 25 years running.
After multiple rounds, the competition will culminate with three final teams that will present their marketing plans to
Kendall-Jackson’s Executive Committee on March 16th. One team will take the gold medal, and two students from the winning
team will be selected for internships in marketing and sustainability this summer.
Kendall-Jackson has an incredibly loyal consumer, and we work hard to deliver a fantastic glass of wine to them year after year. It’s
important that we tell the sustainability story of Kendall-Jackson in a way that resonates with our evolving consumer, so we figured we’d
go straight to the source. The Net Impact professionals are smart, motivated, and they understand the challenge at hand.
