Establishment of the project as per CTE

M/s Sri Venkatesh Iron & Alloys (India) Limited has an existing plant of 4 x 100

TPD Sponge Iron and the company proposes to expand its facilities by addition of

2 Induction Furnaces 2x12T (73,500 TPA), Billet Caster 72,000 TPA along with

Captive Power Plant of capacity 16 MW located at Village Lapanga, PO-

Bhadaninagar, District Ramgarh, Jharkhand. The expansion project falls under

category “A” of S.No. 3(a) Metallurgical Industries (Ferrous & Non Ferrous)

(Annexure-II) and therefore requires Environment clearance from the MoEF&CC.

The company was established in 2005 before the publication of EIA notification

2006. The Total cost of the project was less than 100 crores and therefore doesn’t

require EC as per the conditions of EIA notification, 1994. The company has

obtained CTE from JSPCB vide Letter No. N-432 dated 16.07.2005.
