Panelists: Michael I. Frankel, Sharon L. Klein, Kevin Matz, and Anita S. Rosenbloom

A panel of leading estate planning experts takes you through the most significant recent developments and trends affecting estate planning, with a spotlight on the increasing New York State exemption and portability of the federal (but not state) applicable exclusion amount of the first spouse to die.

Speaker: Paul S. Lee

The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 has led to a brave new world of estate plan-ning—and that world is upside down. Mr. Lee will tell you how to make sure your clients stay right-side up, and will also share with you ways in which to help them take advan-tage of the newly increased federal applicable exclusion amount ($5.43 million in 2015; $10.86 million for married couples).

Speakers: Robert S. Barnett and Tom Bishop

Have clients with foreign bank accounts? Make sure they stay on the right side of the law when Robert Barnett discusses estate considerations relating to foreign bank accounts with IRS Criminal Investigations Agent Tom Bishop.

Panelists: N. Todd Angkatavanich, Claudio DeVellis, Bryce A. Geyer, Todd G. Povlich, and Jonathan RikoonModerator: Lawrence M. Lipoff

This dynamic panel will address specialized issues in estate planning for private equity fund and hedge fund managers, including valuation issues, from the unique vantage point of amultiprofessional approach.

Panelists: Dan Daniels, Cynthia Greenawalt-Carvajal, and Randy P. Siller Moderator: Perry A. Shulman

There is more to building a successful practice than technical expertise. Soft skills matter. And even with a successful practice, you may be missing out on potential clients if your approach to marketing is more 2005 than 2015. This presentation features a panel of estate planners who have “made it” and built a highly successful practice. Along withnetworking expert and Wharton School of Business alum Cynthia Greenawalt-Carvajal, they’ll share with you their top tips and tricks on how to best build your professional brand, develop your social capital, and increase your return on relationships. Speaker: Andrew S. Auchincloss

A soup-to-nuts discussion of the basic principles governing estate planning for non-U.S. citizens who are also not domiciled in the United States. A must-attend session for practitioners with non-U.S. clients.
