HORSEMEN
Lonely was the image that under the trees of heaven slept
What could be the purpose of the power of the water serpent?
Lost would be the insane kingdom when the riders of the sun would come
And the children of the moon were strongSilver souls and silver fi reCarrying forever the wounded destined dragonCousin of the water serpent.
But the riders of the sun were pureAnd their fi re blazed a righteous redAll the goddesses would vow allegianceTo the foreign fl ameTh at would yield to nothing but itself.
Th ree of four gods would meetTime and sun, moon and time and sun and moonEarth would die by will of threeLife would live through blood and blood would fl ow as
thick as seaTh e war of threeTh e death of oneWould lead to pact of death by allTh e image would be brokenTh e dragon choke on fi reAnd the riders would by force awaken

JINETES

A WAY
A corridor of iron, a way but not a passageNo undertaker of the dreams can put a fl ame to rest,And no freedom will be granted to the fl ames in iron
bars I thought I knew the reason for the undertaker’s laugh Of visions lost in time and time without a space
I see asleep the many, death that leaves no trailI see an iron pillar around an act of hell Voids that scream for death’s division Life that always collects debtLeaves a pale illusion and death not kinder
Yet...

STRATEGY
If the feather is foundAnd is afterwards lost
It doesn’t matter
What matters is that it was foundSometime
Our horses are already made of fogAnd our swords are toy-swords
And in this lifetime the swords of the enemyHave no edge either
If life isBetter to restOver the smileOf the rainbow
79
ESTRATEGIA
No importa

Th e army laughed full of furyTh e afternoon restedNight approached with a slow foot

TRIBE
For the kingdom of vanity the salutation of the sun
For the corruption of blood the hug of who loves and the dust into which all cares become
For the middling wayAnd its waste of life and death the dignity of despise from the tribe to which I belong: she of the open hands towards silence she of the luminous shadow in its fall she who raises her tent in the heart where only the dead and the blood are carried
95
TRIBU

SKETCH
I walked over the fi eld of battle, looking for the bodies of the consuls, and I asked myself why they were more important than the husbands and fathers of those who would shed tears perhaps more bitter. At that moment the light of the bonfi res held competition with the setting sun, and foretold the pyres that always have announced the end of days. I asked of God a single word, and only the wind... only the wind caressed the hair of a young man dead. I ordered his body to be sent in an equal way, next to the princely bodies. What am I to do, my God? Cry, or laugh at myself?
101
SEMBLANZA
¿Qué he de hacer, Dios mío? ¿Llorar, o reír de mí mismo?

SELF-PORTRAIT
I laugh at myselfAn empty momentFilled with everything
I stare into a mirror Try to capture the tearBefore it escapes its own beingBefore it betrays its own beginning
I try to fi nd the meaning Knowing that if foundIt’s lost without revealing
I laugh at myselfI ask if I am dreaming All the answers are the same All the questions are defeating Silence Is a jewel of kings Th e robe of a forgotten emperor
Who never was Never will be
I laugh at myself then realize My own errorAnd fall crumpled fi lled with silence Painted on me as a smile
