Estonia 2010!

The trip….

• So 12 Americans head to the foreign country of Estonia to see what God has in store for them. They travel through the airports of Frankfurt, Germany and Tallinn, Estonia.

• We stayed here for two days preparing for the English Camp which is a camp in which we help the students improve their English ability through Christian stories, small groups, English Environments and talent shows . We spent the entire day training and preparing ourselves mentally and spiritually for what the camp and students were going to be like.

CAMP!• Camp was four and half days

long and filled with sports activities, small groups, fashion shows, worship and secular music, snack rooms, sauna, and JESUS!

Small Group

• Small Group was a time after the talks where an Estonian leader and I would lead a group of Estonians and talk to them about the stories of redemption presented and try to portray what it truly meant. Also this was a time to get to know the kids and come closer to them and learn what was going on in their lives and I love every single one of my small group!

REDEEM

• This was the theme of the camp and the stories told were to illustrate different types of redemption. We would usually do some crazy camp dance, then worship and then I would give the talks; stories of Ruth, David, Nicodemus, and Jesus. The last night the kids were able to go through a labyrinth in which they analyzed their own lives to see what they had been holding on to and what is most important to them and what gives them happiness.

REDEEM

We were there to help these kids understand redemption but nothing we could do would ever make them feel the power of it. That part was God tugging at their hearts.

SAUNA!

• One night out of camp we had Sauna which got up to 220 degrees Fahrenheit!

Back to Rakvere

• All of the students from Estonia that attended our camp live in or close to the city of Rakvere and so after camp was over we went back to the city of Rakvere to have a day of fun with the kids in the church so that they could become familiar with the church.

While in Rakvere….

• We stayed two nights in the homes of Estonian students and got to experience how they lived and what their lives were like. Tymo and I stayed in the household of Kaspar, Allan, and Si Si.

Time to go back home

• After some hard goodbyes and farewells, it was time for us to head back to Tallinn to fly back home in the morning. We flew to Munich, then Frankfurt, then Atlanta. 14 Hours!
