WHEN We convince ourselves that life will be better after we finish school, find a good job, get married, or have children. Then we are impatient because our youngsters need so much time and attention, or we’re frustrated dealing with teenagers. Better days must be just around the corner. We tell ourselves that our real life will start when our spouse gets the big promotion; when we can find that better job, take a vacation, or retire. Yet life will always be filled with challenges and hard times. It’s best to admit this and decide to live in the here and now! Someone once said, “For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin—real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.” So treasure every moment that you have, beginning today. Stop wait-ing until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until you are off welfare, until the first or fifteenth, until your ship comes in, until you've had a drink, until you’ve sobered up, until you die—to decide that there is no better time than right now. Living is something you do now or never.

CUANDO Con frecuencia tratamos de convencernos a nosotros mismos de que las cosas mejorarán cuando termine el colegio o una vez hayamos conseguido trabajo, o cuando nos casemos y tengamos hijos. Luego nos impacientamos porque nuestros hijos necesitan de mucho tiempo y gran atención, o nos frustramos al lidiar con nuestros adolescentes. Nos decimos que seguro vendrán tiempos mejores cuando nuestro cónyuge reciba su gran ascenso, cuando encontremos ese trabajo ideal, cuando sea el tiempo de las vacaciones o cuando nos jubilemos. Sin embargo, la vida siempre estará llena de retos y de momentos difíciles. ¡Lo mejor sería admitir eso y decidirnos a vivir en el presente! Alguien se expresó así una vez: “Hace un tiempo pensé que me empezaba a ir bien en la vida. Con todo y eso, siempre había un obstáculo en el camino, algo que primero tenía que resolverse, algún asunto pendiente o una deuda que pagar. Después, todo marcharía bien. Por fin caí en cuenta de que todos esos obstáculos eran mi vida”. Así es que empieza ya desde hoy a dar gracias y aprovechar cada momento que tienes. No esperes a terminar el colegio o a regresar al colegio, a perder diez libras de peso, a tener niños o a que los hijos ya no vivan en casa, a empezar a trabajar o para cuando te jubiles, hasta que te cases, hasta el viernes por la noche o hasta el domingo por la mañana, hasta que tengas un coche nuevo o una casa nueva, hasta que termines de pagar el coche o la casa, hasta la primavera, el verano, el otoño o el invierno, hasta que ya no necesites la asistencia social, hasta el día primero o hasta el día quince, hasta que te des un trago, hasta que se te pase la embriaguez, o hasta que te mueras para darte cuenta de que no hay mejor momento que el presente. La vida se vive ahora o no se vive.

4 Pasos a la Comunión Espiritual

1. Hacer un acto de fe Ven a vuestra propia oración o utiliza uno tradicional para expresar al Señor nuestra fe en su presencia real en la Eucaristía.

2. Hacer un acto de amor Di una oración que expresé tu amor y gratitud al Señor. agrádale también su amor infinito.

3. Exprese su deseo de recibirlo Como no puede recibir físicamente al Señor, exprese su deseo de recibirlo en su corazón.

4. Invita a Jesús a entrar en tu corazón con un corazón humilde y contrito, pedimos al Señor que venga a nosotros tal como lo haría si pudiéramos recibir la Santa Cena. Catholic-Link.org

4 Steps to Spiritual Communion

1. Make an act of faith Come up with your own prayer or use a traditional one to express to the Lord our faith in his real presence in the Eucharist.

2. Make an act of love Say a prayer that express es your love and gratitude to the Lord. Thank Him for his infinite love as well.

3. Express your desire to receive him As you are not able to physically receive the Lord, express your desire to receive Him in your heart.

4. Invite Jesus to come into your heart With a humble and contrite heart we ask the Lord to come to us just as He would if we were able to receive the sacrament. Catholic-Link.org

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in

the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all

things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment receive You

sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my

heart. I embrace You as if You were already there

and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me

to be separated from you.

Sacrament Procedures

Baptisms: Pre-baptism Class is required before your date will be set. Please contact the parish office to register.

Weddings: Spiritual Preparation begins at least SIX months in advance. Do not make your reservations until you have met with the pastor.

Sacrament of the Sick: First Friday of the month at 7:30 am.

Communion Visits: Call the Parish Office.

The Victim Assistance Coordinator will report to Bishop Conlon and coordinate efforts of pastoral support and outreach to assist in the healing process.

The Victim Assistance Coordinator can also assist in making a report to civil authorities.
