8:00-9:00 am courses • (A1) Beginner Tennis (ages 6-12) - Instructor: Stacey Brescancine

5th YEAR OFFERED!!! This course is geared for kids who have never picked up a

racket before! They will first learn the rules of the game in addition to the

numerous tennis moves used to ace opponents. By the end of the course, kids will

be able to play full tennis matches! Equipment Requirement: your own tennis

racket and water bottle

• (A2) Coding for Beginners (ages 10-15) - Instructor: Kate Strazzeri

NEW COURSE!!! Beginner Coding is designed for students with an interest in

computers and creating games, graphics, and designs through the use of beginner

coding principals. The teacher and students will use resources from code.org,

codecacademy.com, and Vidcode.com.

• (A3) Comic Book Heroes Role Play (ages 8-18) - Instructor: Scott Hnasko

8th YEAR OFFERED! Spider-Man or Thor? Batgirl or Wonder Woman? Black

Panther or Captain America? Which Marvel or DC Super Hero will YOU be in

this exciting role play course? The famous super hero movies come to life, and

YOU use problem solving skills and a multisided dice to decide what the heroes

do! This course encourages strategy, teamwork, and creativity.

• (A4) Cooking for Kids (ages 6-9) - Instructor: Becca Perri

NEW COURSE!!! This course is for children ages 6-9. Students will learn to

create delicious meals in the kitchen! You'll learn the fun basics of cooking while

you create delicious masterpieces! Mmmmm…Can you say tasty?

• (A5) Cosmic Yoga (ages 6-18) - Instructor: Aliya Grindle

NEW!!! This course makes yoga and mindfulness FUN for kids with exciting

games and videos. Student will learn yoga positions while being entertained with

amazing stories that integrate various yoga poses. Equipment Requirement: Yoga

has been known to have several health benefits for kids like developing body

unique library-based program incorporates the fun of children’s book story time

with nature, life-skills, virtual field trips, music/theater, and more to excite students

about reading.

• (B4) Comic Book Villains Role Play (ages 8-18) - Instructor: Scott Hnasko

3rd YEAR OFFERED!!! Work with the instructor to choose a comic book villain

you’d like to be – Green Goblin, Joker, Reverse Flash, Catwoman...you could be

from Marvel, DC, or any other comic universe. From there, you’ll work together

with classmates to problem solve and go on exciting role play adventure. This

course encourages strategy, teamwork, and creativity.

• (B8) Movie Making for Beginners (ages 8-10) - Instructor: Aliya Grindle

NEW!!! This course inspires children to tell their stories in movie format.

Students will develop and create their own movie. They will publish it using

green screens, voice recording, and collaboration. Students will explore the

technical components of WeVideo to edit and produce their very own movie.

• (B9) Ooey Gooey Crafty Science (ages 6-12) - Instructor: Heather Fastiggi

NEW!!! Get ready to get messy! We’ll be making a variety of materials to create

crafts, including play dough, silly putty, and of course, lots of slime!

• (B10) Passport to World Cultures (ages 6-10) - Instructor: Yvette Morales

in this course. Students will participate in activities involving flags, languages,

traditions, songs, games, folktales and more!

3rd YEAR OFFERED!!! Advanced Tennis is designed for students who want to

take their skills and experiences to the next level! With your hard work and

guidance from a patient instructor, ESU could be your gateway to Wimbledon!

Prerequisite: Beginner Tennis or related tennis experience. Requirement: your

• (C2) Beautiful Baked Goods (ages 10-18) - Instructor: Brittany Moloughney

NEW!!! Have you ever wondered how those amazing bakers decorate the sweet

treats on Cake Boss, The Great American Baking Show or Cupcake Wars?

Beautiful Baked Goods will teach you those fine motor decorating techniques that

will have you guessing no longer. You’ll make firework cookies, Rubik’s Cube

Brownies, and so much more!

• (C3) Beginner Piano (ages 8-18) - Instructor: Dave Libecap

16th YEAR OFFERED BY THE SAME INSTRUCTOR! This basic course will

show you how you to play piano. You’ll start with harmony, fingering, scales, and

rhythm. You’ll read music. You’ll play simple songs for friends! Equipment

requirement: You must bring your own covered Piano Keyboard each day, which

we can store for you if you choose to take other classes during the day. Label your

keyboard and adapter with your first and last name.

• (C4) Beginner Volleyball (ages 10-18) - Instructor: Kate Strazzeri

2nd YEAR OFFERED! Students will learn teamwork and the various hitting techniques

used in volleyball. They will understand scoring and various positions so they can play

with family and friends. Students will enjoy skills, drills, scrimmaging and more!

NEW COURSE!!! Get into shape or stay in shape with CrossFit! Your instructor

is a CrossFit Games athlete and a Level 2 Certified CrossFit trainer. She will work

with you one-on-one to understand the basics and guide you through daily

workouts. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, this class will help you

improve your fitness and health! *Equipment requirements: wear clothes you

• (C8) Secrets of Comic Book Villains II (ages 8-18) – Instructor: Scott Hnasko

2nd YEAR OFFERED!!! Green Goblin! Lex Luthor! Doctor Octopus! Learn a

brief history of comic books and become an expert on famous comic book

villains! Each day will be an exploration of a new villain. We’ll talk about the

heroes they fight and what makes the characters evil and nasty! Win prizes in our

comic trivia contests!

• (C9) Silly Sports and Goofy Games II (ages 6-10) - Instructor: Aliya Grindle

2nd YEAR OFFERED! This is an introductory course to expose children to the

Spanish language and culture. Students will experience language through songs,

rhymes, bingo games, and a variety of hands-on activities.

• (C11) Stellar Readers (ages 10-14) - Instructor: Angelique Bucciero

2nd YEAR OFFERED! Stellar Readers focuses on improving comprehension.

Reading is thinking, so sign up and strengthen your literacy skills with activities,

NEW!!! Pokémon fans unite! It's time to learn, talk, create and eat all things

Pokémon. This class will be filled with Pokémon crafts, food, and card

battles. *Equipment requirements: Pokémon cards (children are responsible for

their personal decks)

• (D2) Amazing Art (ages 6-10) - Instructor: Angelique Bucciero

2nd YEAR OFFERED! Create arts and crafts using different materials, including

paint, clay, popsicle sticks, and tie dye. Not only will you create masterpieces, but

you will also create gifts to give away or keep yourself to enjoy!

• (D3) Brain Games and Puzzles (ages 10-18) - Instructor: Brittany Moloughney

NEW!!! Let’s exercise our minds and have fun doing it with puzzles and tasks

designed to help challenge and grow your brain! This is a great course to keep

refining those math and reading skills throughout summer.

• (D4) Geology for Beginners (ages 6-12) - Instructor: Lance Soodeen

NEW COURSE!!! Let’s find out more about the science and the history of our

earth! Identify the three different types of rocks and what makes them different.

Experiment with crystals and fossils! Discover why quicksand and earthquakes

happen. Learn how volcanos form and erupt! Our activities really rock!

• (D5) Hot Glue Crafts (ages 6-14) - Instructor: Becca Perri

for sticking things together? In this class, you can make all kinds of unique creations

2nd YEAR OFFERED! What’s it like to be a scientist for the police – a crime

scene investigator? Enroll in CSI at ESU to find out! You’ll examine crime

scenes to find clues and figure out what might have happened. Experiment with

fingerprinting, magnifying glasses and microscopes. Can you look through

suspects and find out who is innocent and who is guilty? Missing this exciting

scientific course would be a crime!!!

• (E3) Dessert Decorating for Beginners (ages 6-13) - Instructor: Becca Perri

NEW!!! Is dessert your favorite part of the meal? Have a blast feeding your sweet-

tooth and creating marvelously delicious works of art! You’ll design and decorate

various yummy treats. Take them home and share them…or keep them for

yourself!

3rd SUMMER OFFERED! This course is a fun way to stay on top of your math game

this summer. We have different crazy activities and games planned that all add up to one

awesome summer! Some games are played with a partner while others involve the whole

class working in teams in a wild race to the finish. Enjoy Muffin Tin Math, Card Maze,

Math Sort Race and more!

• (E5) Photography for Beginners (ages 10-14) - Instructor: Lance Soodeen

NEW!!! A patient, professional photographer will teach you the basics of

photography. You will explore digital camera features and modes. You will

experiment with lighting, utilize a lightbox, edit your photos and more.

• (E6) Star Wars Crafts (ages 6-10) - Instructor: Angelique Bucciero

NEW!!! Crafty you will be if you take this class. Create crafts starring Luke, Leia, Rey,

Finn, Darth Vader, and so many more. All your Star Wars favorites are waiting for you.

Work with a patient, creative instructor who will help you make things that are out of this

students must work together as a team to solve ALL NEW series of puzzles and

the world of photography! What does ISO mean, and how will it affect your

photography? How fast can your subject move before it becomes too blurry for

your camera to capture? Students will use Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe

Lightroom to manipulate their photos. Learn how to shoot like a pro!
