Plot• E.T. is a science fiction film about an alien who becomes stuck on Earth

and is found by a young boy called Elliott (Henry Thomas). Elliott has to bring the alien into his suburban house and introduce the strange creature to his brother and sister and they agree to keep the alien a secret. Eventually E.T becomes ill and the government intervene leaving an awkward situation for both Elliott and E.T. E.T in the end is sent off back to his home planet using a bike which is a very iconic scene in the film. E.T is directed by Steven Spielberg and was released on June 11th 1982 and earned a total of $792.9 million and costed $10.5 million to make! One iconic memory of the film is the pose E.T makes with his finger when he points and says the words ‘E.T phone home’. This pose is seen all throughout the film which is what everyone remembers it for. Another iconic moment is when E.T is dressed as a girl because it adds a comical element to the film but also makes us feel empathy for the alien. Overall E.T received a rating of 7.9/10 from IMDb and 9.2/10 from Rotten Tomatoes, which are two mixed reviews but both very good.
