Project 3: Business Planning: Plan your Grand Opening

Etha Scott was born in Carson City, Nevada. She graduated from Fernley High School in Fernley, Nevada in 2002. Soon after she started working for Lithia Reno Subaru from 2002-2006. She was married to her high school sweetheart Nathaniel Scott in 2006. Right after she moved to Vilseck, Germany to company her husband to his assigned duty station, as he is in the military. In 2007 they welcomed their daughter Jaslyn Scott into the world. After her husband returned from his first deployment to Iraq they moved to El Paso, Texas in 2009. In 2010 while in El Paso they welcomed their son Liam Scott into the world. Etha has been attending Coastline Community College working on getting her Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. In the mean time she has attended Austin Peay State University where she earned her certification in Event Management and Design then went on to attend The Wedding Planning Institute a division of lovegevity, to earn her Wedding Planner Certification. Her main focus is her family but enjoys a good cup of coffee with friends.

Etha has enjoyed planning event’s sense she was very young. But her passion truly started when she was in high school, where she planned many school events and fundraisers. It continued as she started working helping to plan events and Christmas parties for her employer. She realized when she planned her own wedding in just a one week, with ease and enjoyment, that it wasn’t just a passion but a gift that she wanted to share with others. She decided to open Etha Scott’s Event Planning ~ Design ~ Coordination in May of 2013. She is excited that not only to share her talent but it also is her passion. My mission is to make your wedding day or event magnificent and exceed your expectations, making your memories of the occasion dreamlike!

My name is Etha Scott and I am a certified in Event Management, Design and Event Planning. I provide complementary wedding or event planning consultations in Clarksville, Tennessee. My Company, Etha Scott’s Event Planning ~ Design ~ Coordination, will be holding a Grand Opening Event at the Liberty Park Playground Pavilion in Clarksville, TN on Sat, May 25th 2013 from 4-9pm. Business License Information for Montgomery County Tennessee

New business license applications are filed with the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office. You are required to obtain a business license if you anticipate your annual gross receipts to be $3,000.00 or more.

The application fee is $15.00 for the original license.

You are taxed on a percentage of your annual gross receipts to renew your business license each year.

At the Grand Opening event I will have all my vendors set up and ready, all my decorations in place, by 3:30pm when guests may start to arrive. I will have a DJ or Musical Group there to play music, who would have donated their services. A bakery who will have donated a Grand Opening Cake. A caterer who will have donated hor d’oeuvres and signature drinks. A florist who will have donated all the floral arrangements. Vendor booths set around the room so guests can mingle and get to know my preferred vendors with samples. And of course myself, and my speech I plan to give to welcome all my guests. The door prize will be a FREE event planned by Etha Scott’s Event Planning ~ Design ~Coordination.

Promptly at 4:30pm I will begin my speech and thank all my participating vendors and guests. I will say my mission statement,” is to make your wedding day or event magnificent and exceed your expectations, making your memories of the occasion dreamlike”! I made my dreams come true by doing something that I love and opening this business. I will finish my speech at 4:40pm, when I invite everyone to have a good time, enjoy the drinks and food (provided by xxx) and ask the guests to not forget to please fill out the guest information card and to drop the ticket (that were given to them in their welcome packet) for their chance to win the door prize. I will then show them that two large glass vases are located by the grand opening cake, to place tickets in one and information cards in the other. Food and Drink will be served from 4-6pm with music from 4-7pm. The cake will be cut at 6pm. The Door Prize will be announced at 7pm with a thank you for coming which will end the night!

Philanthropic Opportunities

• Have a local Relationship counselor give a work shop to future brides and grooms.

• Inform local colleges and universities that I would love to help future business people yearning for experience, opportunity and college credit that I am willing to provide guidance and mentorship.

• Provide my services to local charities free of charge!
