Pledge to Lose the Leather With Bigg

    Boss Guest Pamela Anderson

If there's one thing that Bigg Boss guest Pamela Anderson loathes,it's cruelty to animals.

That's why Anderson has fired off a letter to Prime MinisterManmohan Singh asking the government to help cattle who areused in the leather industry.

Anderson took a graphic and unflinching look at India's gruesomeleather trade in a hard-hitting PETA US video. In her letter to thePrime Minister, Anderson points out that despite PETA's offers oftangible help to the government and Indian leather industry, conditions for animals used in India's leather trade still remainhorrendous.

In the video footage, cattle are tied together with ropes through theirnoses and beaten mercilessly in forced "death marches" overhundreds of kilometres. During the marches, cattle collapse fromhunger, exhaustion, injury and despair. Handlers force the cattle tocontinue by breaking the animals' tails at each joint (the humanequivalent of having a finger broken) and by rubbing tobacco, chillipeppers and salt into the animals' eyes. The cattle are never offeredfood or even a drop of water.

    YOU MAY NOT KNOW THIS!

China produces 85% of the fur on the

planet and has no animal welfare laws to

protect animals. Fur animals in China suffer

one of the most cruel and savage practicesever heard against defenseless beings. The

hideous cruelty is hidden from consumers

who may not know that each

fur article comes with an unimaginableamount of agony.

All this in the name of fashion

    Ethics Models

Currently using thin models is seen to be acompetitive advantage so if people in theindustry see skinny models as central their

success, it will be hard for any one company todeviate from the norm. KellyCutrone, owner of Peoples Revolution, saythat women shouldnt

be comparing themselves with these girls (runwaymodels). These girlsare anomalies of nature. Theyare freaks of nature.. Theyare naturallythin andhave incrediblylonglegs comparedto the rest of their body.

    Industry self-regulation and Governmentregulation

In Italy they are have banned the use of overly thin models
