Volunteering in Humanitarian Aid - Host OrganizationsVolinHA (Volunteering in Humanitarian Aid) – Host Organisations project aims at preparing future EUAVprojects where humanitarian and volunteering organizations would share a common culture, where EUvolunteers would fit into existing local volunteering dynamics and articulate with existing response mechanisms, especially in enhancing disaster risk reduction. In order to improve community resilience to crisis by building capacities of local volunteers, the projectsforesees training of trainers followed by cascade trainings of local volunteers on first aid, disaster riskmanagement as well as women led emergency response. These trainings will be implemented in disaster proneareas selected by partners in five third countries on three continents (Philippines, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso,Burundi, Ecuador).Three EU based partner organizations (Italy, Ireland, France) will discover these in country dynamics throughbi/trinomial work with local partners, and support them in assessing and strengthening their local and EUvolunteers management procedures, with a view to reach to the level of EUAV quality standards. Working in teams will enable peer learning among partners to prepare future EUAV projects by reinforcing linksbetween humanitarian and volunteering organizations, developing a culture of "humanitarian volunteering”, andassessing needs that could be addressed by European humanitarian volunteers. A special focus will be put oncoordination mechanisms with national emergency response management, in order to identify how local andfuture EU Aid Volunteers could articulate their work with existing clusters. VolinHA-HO partners being national level platforms and members of international networks, the project strivesto broadly disseminate results in order to raise awareness of other stakeholders on EU Aid Volunteers initiative, encourage certification of multiple host organizations and ensure the creation of robust partnerships within theconsortium and beyond.

Balkans and Europe for Development of Resilience InitiativesThe Italian Civil Protection System is based on volunteers, as the most of the EU Partners of the project. AfterEUAV Evreca! Project’s end, the Consortium decided to continue to operate to strengthen future HostingOranizations and to develop EUAV Initiative. The BEDRIN Project is particularly related to the IPA Floods Programme, because the Capacity Building ofThird Countries Partners aims to face floods and related risks. The goal is to complement the efforts exerted under the above mentioned EU funded programmes by buildingpartnerships with a view to develop joint projects in the context of the EU Aid Initiative, providing furthercapacity building activities for the inclusion of EU Aid Volunteers and of local volunteers in Albania, FYROMand Kosovo, all located within the Drin river basin. The Hosting Organizations are working on the inclusion of volunteerism within their daily activities but needguidance to undergo EUAV certification and in developing a sound Training of Trainers curricula. Furthermore, the project will enhance third countries volunteers management capacities and will strengthen theirmanagement of flood or hydro-meteorological disasters. The impact foreseen is to identify at least a EUAV Hub in Drin Basin Area, with links and trained personnel, ready to support civil protection voluntary service development There are two aspects that identify the EU added value to the project: the partnership involves ECHO traditionalpartners, but also new partners, such as NGOs. The project aims at strengthening cooperation withinternational partners and the European neighbourhood states and from the neighbour countries. The second aspect concerns innovation: the innovation theme, within the CP Forum, will focus on newtechnologies and innovative ways of engaging with communities and various organization. The project willinclude in the training contents, social media use throughout the emergency cycle, and particularly within theEUAV Initiative.
